Being in college, I have the unique opportunity to use all of my schools engineering lab equipment for "school projects." I have a good enough relation with the lab professor that I can get just about anything passed off as "school work." The holy grail of tools available is my Water Jet, so I can cut steel up to 6 in thick with ease.

My question is...

What would you make?
( I also have to be able to source the materials and not buy in bulk so keep that in mind...aka no full body skid system.)

if it were me, I'd build out a rear deck security lid. I have one, but before I bought it (and after), I really wanted to fabricate my own. With those tools, you could build a nice, secure enclosure. Have fun with whatever you end up choosing as your "school project!"

Are you thinking of a deck lid for the cargo area for when the top is off?

Yeah, a cargo cover that would protect your stuff with and without the top on. Check out the Jeep Backbone or Tuffy Security decks to see a few examples. I really enjoy my Jeep Backbone.

I’ve seen a number of guys asking about lock boxes. Recently saw a call for one fitting the contours of the cargo cubby beneath the rear floor. That might be cool.

A fender chop kit that allows the led lights to remain or susistutute with a suitable aftermarket set.
