Before anyone buys a 4xe I highly suggest doing a thorough test drive. Drive it like you would on a daily basis.

Cross a 4 lane divided street from a complete stop. Merge into traffic from 30 mph to 60 mph. Turn right in front of traffic (at a normal safe distance).

If you like the response of the electric motor from off idle and how the ICE kicks in to help, then buy it.

I got rid of mine because of the way it drove and the irregular behavior was tiring.

It was fast, almost as fast as a 392. I think it is actually faster from 0-30. But the stars had to be aligned just right for that to happen.

All the recalls and battery concerns were just icing on the cake for me. I never stopped charging it during the moratorium period, but is was always charged outdoors. I did have a battery failure end of ‘24 after 23 months of ownership.

You are using the 4xe wrong, or your 4xe had a problem, the 4xe should not be firing up the gas station at 60 mph.

If you are using the 4xe in Hybrid mode with a battery that has charge, you are also using the 4xe wrong, the 4xe should not be shuffling in, and out of electric, and engaging the gas engine like that.

What on earth are you talking about?

How can ANY use of a 4xe be wrong?

How can any vehicle fire up a gas station at 60 MPH.

I honestly don’t know where to even start.

anyone running a 35x11.5x17 tire on a 4xe?

I've got 315/70/17 KO2s and considering switching to Falken AT4W 35x11.5x17.

I feel like this might be a perfect tire for a 4xe that wants to run 35s and gets used well off road.

Running a 17x8.5 wheel with 4.75 back spacing / 0 offset.

Rubicon on 35” Baja Boss AT. 1.5” front .5” rear teraflex pucks. It rubbed in front a bit on telegraph canyon. I don’t think I would take a Sahara off road with 35’s.

Yes, and I like it a lot. Toyo Open Country R/T Pros on Icon Alloy Recon Pro wheels (8.5", -6 offset, 4.5 backspace. Metalcloak 2.5"/3.5" Gamechanger lift. I have no problem with 8th gear on the highway, great off-road.

My 4xe has never driven well on the highway at tractor trailer truck passing speeds, even before the 35s. I'm still trying to get it tuned in. But that's not because of the tires.
