I don't know, but that was according to my Jeep app and the number of times it was in the shop or over the air updates. I wish I could say that I was exaggerating, but sadly, that is not the case. Yes, I am bitter about all of the recalls!
Sure that is understandable, but 6 battery recalls vs shitty lemon vehicle are two very different things.

Personally I would not touch any other Stellantis vehicle other than the Wrangler, the Wrangler stands alone, and because of that I'm willing to put up with a bit of annoyance.

Again the purpose of a PHEV like the 4xe is doing those 15 mpg city trips using electric, depending on speed, the 4xe highway mpg varies, for me I get anywhere between 20-23 mpg, for me I don't really care, because the vast majority of my driving is city, which means I'm saving over $3,500 a year in gas bills.

A 392 means I would have spent over $12,000 over that same period in gas.

You keep harping about REPBs(ramcharger), these are essentially BEVs with a big ole V6 gas engine to charge the battery, it's as asinine as it sounds, especially for a vehicle like a Wrangler. It's so asinine even Dodge doesn't like people referring to it as a gas engine.
Making your use case the best choice at the time of purchase. I still wouldn’t buy a new one at this time for the reasons mentioned.

An EV that has a generator eliminating all range anxiety makes an EV much more attractive to this consumer.
a small efficient 4 cyl diesel like our refrigeration units use would be better than a big NA gas engine, unfortunately turbos aren’t effective on constant speed gas engines, and a small Diesel engine is likely a non starter. Agree to disagree 😊

Like I said much earlier, these 4xe are not a direct replacement for the 3.6 or 2.0T, they have to be worth it to the individual, just like the diesel or 392, they all have specific use.

I personally see zero reason to buy a EV with a range extender, especially something like a RAM, they already do what they do best using diesel or gas.

Hopefully someone puts and end to this nonsensical EV for the masses push.

We’ve had our 4xe for well over a year.
Two things we’d change: 1. We should have waited until the ā€˜24 came out. The base infotainment screen is considerably better. 2. Probably would have gotten a Rubicon.
I would want a 392!
I would NOT have bought a different engine option!!! Most of our driving is under 25 miles a day and we don’t use the ICE. More than 50% of our total mileage has been electric only. If we’re going to go more than 20 miles(one way) I’ll run the engine. We have never had the vehicle go into FORM.

Doesn't the V6 require not-minor disassembly -- e.g., full removal of a manifold -- simply to gain access to at least a couple of the spark plugs when changing them? All I had to do was unplug four coil connectors on my 2.0T. Done.

I get that in other instances, there might be fewer things to faff with on the V6 when compared to the four cylinder, but I've read enough owner posts about maintaining the Pentastar to conclude that it might not deserve the claim of significantly (even in non-caps) easier labor. This is doubly true when considering the history of reliable functioning of the 2.0T vs. the issues that continue to bedevil the six cylinder (example.)

Just curious.
Yes, the manifold needs to be removed to replace the spark plugs. It also takes ~5 minutes to remove that manifold.

When I say it requires more labor, I'm talking about the full picture. Try to remove a throttle body on a 2.0L. Try to remove the manifold. Try to remove the high pressure fuel rail, and reinstall it WITHOUT it leaking from the rear hard line. Hell, just try to replace that one time use hard line.

What are you going to do when the engine's valve cover starts leaking due to age? Labor is high for expected items like that, as the fuel rail must be removed. Not even getting into the fuel injectors.

šŸ˜ - Agree
I would consider a Ramcharger to replace my aging 95 Ram 2500 if it dies only due to the EV’s being shoved up our arse push.
See Ca ā€œClean Fleets Billā€ banning ā€œCombustionā€ engines for all trucks by specific years by type. … I saw an article yesterday (from Detroit) about Ca’s ability to effectively set the national standards is too be fought. But couldn’t read it, subscription required. It won’t be the only or last one.

edit- every damn time I make a post on any thread the last few days it changes to ā€œwatchā€, I have hit ā€œunwatchā€ numerous times , it’s getting annoying . Just me ?

Fair enough. I was curious because of the occasional forum posts from owners who found that task to be labor-intensive, and/or an unreasonable design feature of that particular engine.

It's one of those "Wtf is this??" type things. Once you know how it comes off it is very quick and straight forward. If you're a DIY mechanic with minor experience it can easily be a daunting task. That being said, the same DIY mechanic would never have a shot of working on the 2.0 beyond very basic items like those spark plugs previously mentioned.

I have not owned the 4XE so no idea on how fast they charge.
220 home charging from 0% takes between a hour 15 to a hour & 1/2
Regular 110 outlet with included Jeep plug from less than 5% charge takes less than 12 hours even when the Jeep estimates 13 hours. Our charging schedule starts at 8pm and it’s always done before the time we leave at 7:30am.
If you see anything else I’ve said about our 4xe, you’ll notice we’re probably the perfect target for one based on our mileage/usage.

Thanks, I figured it was much better on the fast charger. Someone earlier mentioned stage 2 was not really needed. I know on the X5 I just picked up, it is needed if you get home at 6pm and leave the next day at 7am. Especially if you want to save money by using the non peak hours of 9pm-6am to charge.

Totally love the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve save for the battery recalls. Other than those, it is fantastic. But, it tends to sit a lot as I just prefer to drive either the AEV or 392 Wranglers. However, the wife doesn't like climbing into them, even with the power steps on both.

Thanks, ……….
………the X5 I just picked up,
I believe the X5 PHEV is what my mom bought this last year. I LOVE that car! It has GREAT range and awesome power!
She has stage 2 fast charging at home and we use it for our 4xe when we visit.
IF the BMW were in my price range it would be my 1st pick, just not for off-road!🤣

We tried so hard to stay within the Jeep brand... But the 50e really is a nice Hybrid and so smooth. No more damn ticking of the 3.6L... Her GCL ticked like crazy from day one. My first 3.6 and then the one they put in my Jeep to replace that one does not tick at all.

A Jeep/Dodge that does not tick?
I don’t believe it!
Our 4xe Wrangler is our 1st Jeep, I was really surprised at how much stronger the ticket is with this compared to our other three Dodge vehicles!🤣
Not counting exhaust or collector gaskets, my Fords and Chevys never sounded like these do!

My '22 3.6L does not tick, my '22 F-350 (7.3 gasser) quiet as can be. My 2016 hemi 5.7 Ram 1500 had a tick. My 1999 GMC Yukon 5.7 Vortec - tick, my 1996 Chevrolet 2500 PU 5.7 Vortec - tick....

It's a crap shoot! šŸ˜†
