Not uncommon at all in specialty offroad tires. Iroks original version were (and still are) directional....so are Maxxis Treps, Boggers, Mickey Thompson Baja Claws, Interco Cobalts, Ground Hawgs....just off the top of my head.
I concur, directional tires are common for both your average on and off-road vehicles.

Air down? Sure I aired down to get up a driveway.
Driving in snow is not like sand or mud where airing down works to your advantage, but you don’t want to ‘float’ on top of the snow.

It seems counterintuitive, but in snow you want narrow tires (pizza cutters) that are aired hard so that your tires cut through the snow to firm ground below to gain traction.

All tires 98% of owners will never even consider using. You must not have read my reply accurately.

...uncommon

Agreed...my Lotus is on directionals too. **EDIT** Now that I think about it...so was our Lexus.
Both of which are not 4x4's.

We are talking Jeep Wrangler.

You're being intentionally obtuse. Do you know how the quote function works? I was replying to Bearded Dragon's comment.
Of course you'd say that lol

Originally someone questioned if directional tires are on a DD because someone was unable to reverse in 10" snow.

I said highly unlikely dd has one directionals as they are very uncommon and for specialty uses.

You do that a lot. You veer waaaaay of subject in attempts to claim relevency.

Please quote me on this issue where we dont agree or said the exact same thing.

I'll never forget a professor of mine once told me before graduation. "....with your level of education you will find 99% of the people around you in the world are uneducated and lack much common sense. It's normal and a part of natural selection. Communicating is something I can not teach you."

.....appearently, I still havent gotten the hang of it.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit, I see.

I didn't say anything about the application. I agree that specialty offroad tires aren't all that common....unless (as I just said) we're talking Jeeps that actually get wheeled on tougher trails. Then it's pretty common.
But nobody ever mentioned hard core wheeling??

Yes, would be common for an aggressive off roader.(sport)

So your saying your reference was to claim they are not uncommon because companies make them and few use them? Talk about mashing the crap out of a discussion.

Again, don't like it....there's a "report post" button. I suggest you use it.
I would NEVER be that childish or petty to "report" you. That's ridiculous.

Nothing wrong with dialogue and to disagree or agree. No, you dont "bother" me. But dont misinterpret or misrepresent what I say to boost your own agenda. That's frivolous....and gay.
