the JK you had to have at least a 3-inch lift to put 35 you can run 35s on a stock JL. If you take the bottom part of the fenders off on the JL you can put 40s the owner of rock krawler did it
Another major plus is the 8 speed transmission. You don't need to regear/gear as low as you did in the JK.

Did you regear or swap axles? If not how does it drive?

Purchased 12/28. I am still waiting on a few items to be delivered; DV8 RBJL-02 rear bumper/tire carrier, Baja Design lights (2- LP6 & 6 - LP9). I am leaning toward replacing the flares with the MC Overlands which came out right after I ordered the DV8s.

Build sheet (these are the important items);
5.13 gears
Flashcal
3.5" Rock Krawler (powder coated red springs)
2.0 Fox shocks & steering stabilizer
Cooper DISCOVERER STT PRO 40X13.50R17LT
17x9 Fuel D633 Zephyr Matte Black (powder coated red beadlock)
DV8 - FS-15 HAMMER FORGED FRONT BUMPER
Smittybilt X2O Waterproof Synthetic Rope Winch - 10000 lb.
DV8 - slim fender flares w/LED signals
DV8 - front & rear inner fenders (front - powder coated)
Awesome build!

Would you say that the gears feel normal with the 5.13 gears? Do you get to use all 8 gears?

Yeah that is a sweet rig! I'm just hoping to afford to regear and upgrade to 37's when my 35's wear down. I couldn't afford to get a rubi and mods so compromised with a sport with mods.
Does anyone out there have quake tempest series halo headlights? My current lights are yellow and look like dirty teeth next to the nice LED's that came with my bumpers.

Nice. Can you give us a bit of detail? What lift? How does it drive on the road/highway?
Skyjacker 3.5
Resulted in 5 inches front, 4.5 inches rear
Rancho geometry brackets in front
Core adjustable control arms in rear to push axle back
2.875 backspacing

The steering was super sketchy when the jeep was stock. With the addition of the lift and geometry brackets it has gotten better but still stinks. Brought it in while stock and dealership said the steering was normal... May upgrade all steering components on my own.

Nice, they look awesome! Yeah I'm gonna put in that order next week when I get paid.
When the all of the lights and halos are on, does it look very bad that the fogs don't have Halo's or do you just have more of a preference in making them match?
When I bought my bumpers they included some really nice fog LED's in the package, they just aren't Halo's. I'm hoping to just change the main headlights unless they end up really not looking good together.

Sorry it took so long to respond. I just noticed your question.

With the gear upgrade I do not notice any difference in shifting. The Flashcal syncs everything up (Gears, Tires, etc.). It runs great!

I installed Blackout Heise 7" RGB Halo headlights and fog lights since my last post. I will upload a picture soon. Waiting for the Spare Tire Carrier, DV8 half doors, and BD LP6 Pro lights to come in.

I am throwing a lot of money at it, but it is one of my dream vehicles.

Dang, those tires are sick!

Thank! I didn't know a lot about them other than Genright vehicles ran them last year and Yokohama sponsored the ultimate LJ adventure. I talked to a couple guys before purchasing and they said I would love them and I do. They are very quiet for such an aggressive tread. No loader than my old stt pros and they did great in the snow and ice yesterday with the sipping.
