Hi all

I had issue with my 392 transfer case motor (I understand that activates the clutch in 4H Auto) that has ‘burned’

the official dealer says because we didn’t flash the onboard computer after the swap to 35s (which actually we did with a Tazer)

but it seems BS to me as I can’t understand the link between tyresize and the motor issue

any view or experience ?

The larger tires will not cause concern with T Case. Especially only 35"s. Dealer is probably trying to void warranty. Put stock tires back on and hopefully dealer has not "black flagged" it, if not take to another dealer. Sadly it will be in the system and the only hope is the new dealer will try and push it through.

thanks Sam,

after a bit of push they’re cool to cover under warranty, my concern is that they don’t have a clue of what could have caused the issue with the transfer case motor: a defect or could there be anything I am doing wrong ?
I agree can’t be tyres …. We regeared to 4.55 but I can’t imagine that has an effect either….

I went from stock 33's (non-XR) with the 3.73 differentials to 37's without upgrading the differentials. No issues whatsoever. Since then, I have installed 4.56 gearing and still runs like a top! I too used a Tazer to adjust for tires and gearing. Just a thought (which I'm sure you did) - there is a "save" sequence with the Tazer you have to follow once you make your changes...otherwise it won't take.
