What is gorilla glass?

It's a stronger windshield option, worth every penny to most folks. It's a recent addition to the available options, so sadly it wasn't an option yet when I ordered mine.

The regular windshield is very prone to cracks/chips.

Yup, what Young04 said. It’s supposedly quite a bit stronger than the standard windshield, ie: less prone to cracks. From what I’ve read here on the forum, it’s a worthwhile upgrade to do even if you already have your Jeep, at least if the original gets damaged. It’s apparently a no brainer though if you’re ordering a new Jeep, since you only have to pay the difference in price over the standard windshield, versus paying full price for one after the fact.

Also, I haven’t been to Jeep’s build and price configurator on their website lately, but even if it’s not showing up as an option there, your dealer will have it as an option in their system.

The jeep website configurator is always weeks behind dealer and is always missing lots of little factory goodies for options, like special packages and decals, colors, ect. always check the dealers computer for available options. the website is sorta a guide, sad to say.
