So why is it so difficult to find anyone that makes a skid plate for the 2025 otehr than full body ? Talked ot Rusty's off road as well as RC and a couple others and none list anything for the 2025 3.6. I guess I could fab my own but be nice to get a decent priced basic plate. Closest I've found is the AFSIR plate thats $500 and no one will confirm if it actually fits my JLU.

I've gone through same aggravation! Jeep changed the motor mounts several times in the past few years and most of the tranny/engine skidplates seem to use those as forward bolt on points. Should have left the traditional motor mounts alone as they work and are simple...Jeep went for damping/vibration Cadillac-ness with the newer style motor mounts.

I want a minimalist STEEL (slides over rocks much better than aluminum and lasts longer!) skidplate for the tranny/engine that hugs up as high as possible, don't want a full belly pan boat anchor that hangs lower than the stock skids! Running stock on rest of skids as they are pretty good and tucked up high.

Called and emailed couple companies whose design I like and they seemed to busy to care about making the new style mounting arms. I'm at a busy point in life, used to build all my own stuff like this, but now usually opt for something good off the shelf. I could cut and fab them, but time is short and I'd rather buy a quality product that fits well without modification, especially at the prices they charge.

That is a super sweet design that meets all my criteria except it's aluminum...awesome pic!
I have had steel and aluminum and literally for me there is no difference in how it slides across rocks..for me it is just cheap insurance as I worry more about snagging a tranny line than anything else...can't beat the price and customer service of Asfir4x4.

Thanks for the more info on your experience, our granite rocks here (Rubicon, Fordyce, etc.) are some super smooth and others like very course sandpaper. Those tranny lines are a concern, especially on my 33" tires. Looked at their site and pics don't show topside, are they now fully welding all the seems on the back (top) side?

not sure what you mean by topside but the seam towards the back is welded both sides (in and out) and the seams at the very front corners are not, but if you get into that you are doing a one in a million hit....I have not done fordyce but have done the rubicon and dusy and these would have no issues on either of those...if you are doing the rubicon on 33's you are picking good lines so you would not have to worry about hitting the front.....

Thanks for the excellent pictures, glad to see those are welded but would prefer they were all welded. Good to know they survived Dusy and Rubicon, yes I've done it before on 33s...always pick good lines even when I had 36x12.50x15s Swamper TSL/SXs, helps reduce damage. :)

Hey @sarguy1941 , we have an Engine & Transfer skid confirmed for the 2025 JLU. We now run our Black November sale! Once added to the cart, additional 15% discount will automatically reflect.

Im with most. Just wanted a basic resonable plate. This jeep isn't even going to be used for crazy wheeling. Modtly fire roads. My 2018JK is our true wheeler. I just thought in 7 years of a new model there we be stuff out there. Its definately the motor mount issue. Guess I'll be ordering a @ASFIR4X4 plate.

So sounds like you dont actually need something if you arent going to be doing any wheeling that would put the underside in danger. Put LCA and Shock skids on instead which hit FAR more often than anything else.

Been beating on jeeps for years. Ive had a piece of rebar take out an oil pan on a CJ so dont take chances. I agree its probably overkill but the pan and trans pan is wide open. I'll spend the cash to cover those up. Thats the reason I am not doing a full belly skid. Besides after a new $60K jeep, then $4000 in wheels and tires the wife has me on a short leash

But she did just book Big Bear CA Jeep Jamboree for next year and this will be the Jeep we take across the country so....
