2024 driver's side wheel well plastic cover

Has anyone done anything with the large monstrosity that Jeep decided to put over the driver's side wheel well cover? In the previous JLs, this space was open, I used it to mount my ARB compressor with the MORE bracket. Now it seems like wasted space. Anyone take it apart yet? Thinking about mounting a 12 volt cigarette, USB A and C panel there. Not sure what else to do with the space.

As you can see, forward of the seatbelt tensioner used to be open, allowing the space on the wheel well to be used. Now it has that plastic piece on it. The only thing I can figure it is for is to match the subwoofer on the other side.

I'm wondering if anyone has taken it apart to see what is under it?

I thought I would follow up. Under the cover is a white plastic shelf that something is supposed to bolt to. Mine was empty so it is either for an option I don't have or for the 4xE. Tried looking up the part number but I couldn't find any reference.

I ended up cutting out the center of it (the cover mounts to it so I couldn't remove it). I added an ARB fridge plug, and a cigarette plug and a plug with USB A and C chargers. I used two sets of 10 gauge wires for the sockets

Turns out that space was the perfect size for my mobile radio. I mounted the remote head unit on the dash, & it can be easily removed and tucked out of sight when needed. With a little bit of Dremel trimming, that weird white plastic piece became a perfect mount for the radio. An added bonus was the factory wiring channel was right there, so it made for a pretty clean install. The only clue is a USB programming cable just visible poking out under the plastic trim.

Jeep does some really dumb things. I have the Sidestasher bags there and the bottom bag sits in that space.

Trying to bump this and see if anyone else did anything cool with this. Or tried to swap out a 2023 trim to recapture space. Looks like 2025 kept this design. Tried to search forum and couldn’t find other threads.
