I bought the 23 instead of the 24 becuase I didn't want the 24 touchscreen. I like the idea of being able to easily change out the factory head unit. The whole appeal of a Jeep to me is the ability to modify and customize more than other vehicles. The 24 screen took one of those options away.

Personally I like the new screen plus with Apple CarPlay I pull up OnX maps on the screen and it is huge...no need to attach an iPad hanging from the dash any longer.
...for eight months a year I want the movie sized screen.
Well of course the guy who used to anchor a tablet to his dash would appreciate Toledo doing the job for him.

I strongly prefer the round vents. They just work better than rectangular ones because they’re so adjustable. Not a huge fan of the new dash, but it wouldn’t be a deal killer at all.
I prefer the round vents too, but that’s just my personal preference. Like you said, it’s certainly not a deal killer.

Zero issues with ability of the vents in the 2024 to keep things cool in the Arizona heat. Waited for the 2024 specifically for the larger screen. If you don’t want new tech go buy something old. I don’t understand why we have a bunch of people who come here and complain about the evolution of vehicles. There are plenty of dumb vehicles out there. Go buy one if that new tech scares you or seems worthless.

The ā€˜icon’ began its ruin somewhere around the TJ era when they began altering the design to broaden (and make the fixes they complained about) the customer base. Improving the ride, AC, sound proofing/Dolby/Pioneer, etc. They began making standard features options and eliminated half doors.

Anyway, I don’t mind the larger screen except sometimes at night when I want it dark but still need a screen that doesn't still glow even in dark mode. I do mind how complicated Jeeps have gotten to modify when so many sensors and doodads throw up alarms if you wave a 10mm socket near them however.
I drove Eastbound on I80 in the middle of the night doing a buck-fifteen in a '71 MoPar, halfway thru NE w/no interior lights. I turned the headlights off and got even a wider point of view. That was 43 years ago. You shoulda been around. It was a gas! Love the bluetooth in my '22 JL, Ordered it with a manual transmission to play in the snow. the engine on/off switch is for everyone who embraces "technology". In a way I guess I don't have time for stuff I don't need. My cell phone rests (on) in a tool bag in the back of my Wrangler. I need both hands and feet to drive. Sometimes I can't even wave to the groovy people in their Wranglers, but I will make space for coffee... black

Is that a consequence of it simply being turned on, or is it due to the screen's higher placement exposing it to heat being transmitted through the windscreen glass? Just curious.

So many touchscreens now integrate HVAC controls, for example, that drivers are compelled to use them as a matter of course. While I bow to no one in my disdain for distracted driving, citing a driver for interacting at all with such screens shouldn't occur.

Sure, I'd like to see a return to less distracting analog-style radio and HVAC controls (buttons & knobs), but this is how it is and we just have to deal.
I believe heating up is due to the inherent design and materials I supposed.

I went from the 8.4" display with round vents to the new larger display and I still think there is plenty of air blowing from the rectangular vents. I also think the new display is a huge improvement. It's faster and has way better screen resolution. This is also a very subjective topic - I am a geek and like the tech integrations that Jeep has added to the Wrangler. If you are old school, you're gonna hate this upgrade just like when the 8.4" came out.
