I just walked out to my Jeep, parked under a carport, and was greeted by a crack that makes a complete circle from middle of drivers seat to middle of passenger seat. There are no impact marks anywhere to be found. It wasn’t cracked when I parked it yesterday, and you can hang your finger nail in the crack inside the jeep.

Anyone seen the inside layer of glass crack on a gorilla glass windshield? It’s my understanding the gorilla glass layer is on the inside?

Can’t handle a differing opinion of a mod? Welcome to the internet.
Sure I can... my research obviously differed from yours... if you did any.

and what research would that be? The sales brochure? I’ve never seen any definitive results that it does anything at all

BTW... I am on my third Gorilla glass windshield. First was scratched on the inside from the factory. Salesman pointed it out and they replaced it a week after I took delivery. I wouldn't have spotted it for some time. Had to see it in just the right light.

Second windshield was struck by a rock from an oncoming truck on the highway. Warranty covered it. The impact was actually hard to see... it was at the very top of the windshield, on the edge.

Almost three years on the third.

Warranty covers the first gorilla glass replacement, so hit up a dealer.
Warranty may cover it if the crack is no more than 3" long. I am currently arguing with Jeep about a 2 3/4" crack from a stone hit. See the gorilla glass warranty, it limits the warranty coverage to damage between 3/4" and 3".

It’s a hole lot more than 3” it pretty much is a big circle across almost the perimeter of the windshield

Yes they covered mine. I think it has to be within the first two years.
