i ordered a JLR on the same day and dealer is saying the same. However, they don’t have a tentative build date. What does scheduled mean without a build date?
It just means that it is now in their Production "queue". If it goes the way many here have, it could be roughly a month until it goes into Production...

Can someone remind me: is the "delivery" date the dealer sees actually the build date? Thought I had seen that on here.

I think you are referring to the ship date, which the dealer sees and likely reflects the build date.

I checked last week and my estimated ship date is next Wednesday the 14th, so hopefully, I go "In Production" soon!

Because that’s the level you need to join at to get the affiliate discount. If you read the benefits of the levels you’ll see it says so in the details. Your salesman gave you incomplete information.

Since my Jeep is still in only Confirmed status with VIN, I probably have enough time to do this don't you think? Worth it for most of us?

On, thank you. Hopefully I’ll get a build date soon.

Scott,
Having to backtrack here because I’m learning this as I’m doing it, but my Buying Jeeps for Dummies 101 question is:

So we get the build numbers. That must be the MSRP? And the invoice is what the dealer paidthen the numbers I’ve been crunching with my agent have been the MSRP. He must be laughing at me!

Then how does one find the invoice price? Are all the % below invoice that everybody is posting, they calculated after their negotiation?

Thank you, you’ve been most helpful.

Micki
I'm not the right guy to get invoice pricing from, but here is a link that someone else posted that supposedly has the information.

https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...ve-pricing-spreadsheet-for-2023-jl-jlu.98533/

MSRP is what will show up when you build a jeep on the Jeep Build website. No guarantee that when a dealer is building you one that it will be as the dealer can probably manipulate the values or add-in "dealer" costs.

There are only certain dealers that you will be able to get the below invoice pricing some have mentioned. RatBert on this site has a full list of those dealers.

Given that you are ordering a Jeep you should be able to do at least a little better than MSRP. IF you were buying off the lot given the low availability and that most people don't want to wait for an order it will be difficult to do better than MSRP on a off the lot purchase and a number of people are paying over MSRP. I think anything you can get below MSRP will be tolerance to for negotiations and willingness to walk away from the dealer or at least giving the impression to the dealer that you are willing to go elsewhere. That said, I think whatever you can get below MSRP, you should feel good about.

I think you have enough tools to feel like you can get a fair deal from the dealer.

Since you have a trade, my only suggestion there is to treat the new vehicle purchase and trade in as two separate negotiations.

OK. Just checked dealer email again. You are correct. I'm referring to the "ship" date they have. I was D1 for weeks with no "ship" date. Then they emailed me Wednesday and still D1 but now "ship" date of 9/30. Thanks for clarifying for me.

I've seen this "ship date" the dealer gets before it actual ships is most likely the date the Jeep would be available to ship. Most of the actual ship dates that I have seen end up being a few days after the dealer "ship dates".

I don't think Jeep has very little control on the shipping, so it becomes a real wildcard when a Jeep ships and when it actually arrives.

Scott,

I guess it doesn’t matter Who I go to on that list especially if I’m going to separate the transactions
there is only one dealer in here in California
Hi Micki, take a look at the interactive spreadsheets found in this thread. Be sure to select the proper 2 or 4 door spreadsheet and work through the options as described in the thread. Hope that helps.

Gregg
