Zuul: There is no Dana, there is only Zuul.Oh, man. You.Are.Killing.Me. You're either a youngster or you concentrated on productive things when you were younger. It's from the original Ghostbusters movie. Rick Moranis was the "Key-Master" after he was possessed and he was looking for the "Gate-Keeper" (who was played by Sigourney Weaver) to insert his "key" and unlock the netherworld. It was a ham-handedly off-color way to deal with the topic. But then, us teenagers (at the time), particularly adolescent boys, were the target audience.
My son is in the same boat (in his case literally). He's a JO (O-2) on a destroyer and lots of his guys are older than he is (he's 24). He said to me the other day "Dad, I don't really feel like I should be deciding if a guy should be able to leave early to pick up his kids or fielding calls from sailors' spouses about the fact that they may be cheating on them." I just said "welcome to middle management, my son"I can sympathize a little bit, my new boss just showed up and he’s younger than I am with way less experience but he commissioned so he gets the big boy pants
Outstanding! Now I feel like I need to watch it again. Saw "Afterlife" on a plane recently. Meh.Zuul: There is no Dana, there is only Zuul.
Teenage me: I fail to see the problem here.

Damm that’s not a good newsCalled my dealer and was told my XR is in kzld status! He said it probably at the vendor lot for the XR package. From what I can tell LD stands for long delay-usually for rail or carrier delays. But I live in central Ohio. Not far to ship from Toledo .
From the enlisted side I can say that those are the officers I like working for, they understand they don’t have all the answers and are usually the ones who ask for help and for the right way to do thingsMy son is in the same boat (in his case literally). I also tried to give him that advice when he got commissioned. Hopefully, he listened. He told me he does try to be the first one there and last to leave. Important for leadership. From the enlisted side I can say that those are the officers I like working for, they understand they don’t have all the answers and are usually the ones who ask for help and for the right way to do things
Tell him to find a good Chief to latch onto and learn from. The best JOs are the ones who learn that early.I also tried to give him that advice when he got commissioned. Hopefully, he listened. He told me he does try to be the first one there and last to leave. Important for leadership.
