This morning I noticed our 2020 was starting to have infotainment screen issues. At times it wouldn't recognize any touches on the screen, or certain areas, then a minute or two later it would be fine, I could rapidly click anywhere and it works for a bit. Using the steering wheel controls is fine, so mostly seems the touch interface. The screen is a bit dirty so when I'm home I'll use a microfiber cloth to clean it. A few weeks back I replaced the Jeep's main battery but that's the only recent change. I had tried to do the uConnect reset by holding the Power and Tune buttons in for 10-20 seconds but it seems to do nothing, when I let them go the screen just turns like I hit the power button. Am I supposed to be doing that with the engine running, or ACC position? Any other suggestions?

Is your screen delaminating??
It's a 2020 (I believe the ones mostly affected are 2018's?). But I'm 99% it isn't, when off I don't recall seeing any bubbles or the like, just some minor surface wear in the commonly used areas (and only when under just the right light). I'm at work now and can doublecheck later. During the battery swap I tried the uConnect reboot but holding both Power/Tune do nothing, screen stays on the whole time, if I let go the screen just turns off as if I only hit the power button, no reboot or Jeep logo etc. There are times it's perfectly fine, I can rapidly hit anywhere on the screen and it responds, then a few minutes later back to acting up.

To reboot pull fuse F97. That is a hard reset.
I'll try this tonight, read somewhere you do this while engine is running, that doesn't feel right?? I would assume doesn't matter either way? Isn't there a soft reset to try as well? I've seen hold Volume/Tune for 20 seconds, but this didn't work (unless I didn't wait long enough), or also one about touching top right corner of screen for 20+ seconds? Has anyone successfully soft booted the JL Uconnect 8.4?

Checked my screen and don't see any signs of delamination. My issue (and only time it ever happened) was yesterday morning driving to work, driving home yesterday I had zero issue, screen worked perfect and I was purposely putting it through its paces. What I completely forgot to post was first sign of an issue yesterday AM was the phone app icon (on the bottom row) got frozen in a weird position, it's icon was in it's normal spot, but a second phone icon was in a weird spot maybe half way between the existing one and the icon next to it (almost like an animation froze halfway through). I think I may have accidentally brushed the screen causing this. I couldn't get this to go way until I turned the screen off and back on, that's when touch controls got wonky and when it was working seemed a little slower than normal. Wondering if perhaps there was a bug or similar and leaving and returning to the Jeep for work cleared it out?
