Did the drivers ebrake a few weeks back, that wasn’t fun… Thinking of pulling the axel shaft for the passenger, thought about the LSD while I’m in there

A gear drive/ spring would be about a grand just for parts up here, no need for lockers for me. But the LSD isn’t working like it was.

Is rebuilding the LSD really that dumb?

Let me have it!

I love LSDs for daily drivers and you can do a ton of trails with them as well! I say it's time for an upgrade if you are going to stick with an LSD. No more clutch packs like OEM, they eventually wear out and will again if you rebuild it. Go with something like the Eaton Detroit TrueTrac Limited slip. So not talking you out of an LSD, maybe just not sticking with clutches. Of course I know that will cost more $. But, hey, it's always more fun to spend someone else's money on these forums :)

Instead, I would install a Truetrac, they have the same benefits as a limited-slip without the wear issues.
I have run Truetracs in my Jeeps for over two decades without any problems or wear problems. My XJ has close to 200,000 miles on its Truetrac.

another vote for the Truetrac; had one in the back of my XJ for well over 200K miles, and based on how well that worked, put one in the back of the JLU.
much more effective than the factory clutch-pack LSDs, and you'll never need to rebuild it.

as a bonus, the want you to NOT use the more expensive Synth lube, and no Friction Modifier additives.
