If any of you have problems with your A/C compressor crapping put, be prepared. You may question if the joy of Jeep ownership is worth it if you can’t use it during the best time of the year. It can’t be driven because the compressor also cools the batteries. I’m ridiculously disappointed in Jeep. I was going to buy a 4xe Grand Cherokee, but now I’m questioning how stupid I would be if I did that after going through the current mess. Thx for letting me vent.

The AC cools the batteries? Didn't know that.

I have heard the same thing. I had thought about buying a A/C compressor to have on standby just in case.

I believe this is the part numberhttps://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/mopar-compresso-68376684ae

In Tampa, there is absolutely no way I could go without AC

I feel your frustration, but I don't think parts availability is just a Jeep problem, it's industry wide. Unfortunately that's the world we now live in. ?
And yes, the complexity of these vehicles is off the chart ridiculous. I was laying under the front axle area in my shop looking up through my engine compartment realizing I could barely see light though all the minutia! ?

I feel your pain. I had to have my heater replaced. lucky for me it came quickly but guys before me were waiting 3 months. Needed a brake line about 6 months ago and it was months out. Lucky lots of aftermarket parts. It is a bunch of crap that they don't have parts. Pretty hard to argue that "supply issues" are causing them when they build these things everyday. What they are really saying is we have your money now bugger off while we make some money off someone else.

Parts supply chain has gone from JIT (just in time) to S--T (somewhere halted in time).

At least you won't need A/C for much longer. :). $20 says as soon as the weather gets colder your heater will stop working.

I don’t believe the dealerships regarding supply. I have found AC compressors and batter warmers for our vehicles online. I think the problem comes down to idiots and lazy people working at dealerships. They don’t care if you have your vehicle or not.

I would not put faith in a Grand Cherokee being more reliable than a Wrangler...
