Warning about Weathertech Cargo liner Part Number: 401198
I ordered this Cargo liner based on this thread, it fits like a glove but just a warning that they cut the four cargo tie down holes out. I thought they sent me a return the first time but the second one came pre-cut also. I wanted to use this to keep plant dirt off the carpet but with giant holes pre-cut it's not going to work too well. Going to try duct taping plastic over holes but its bit of a bummer.

Just received mine. The cut-outs you see are for the rear seat not tie-downs.

Mine did not have the cargo tie downs cut out. Wonder if they just started doing this. See on post 14709

@SusanH, thanks for the heads up on this, I don’t even want the seat mount holes cut out so will have to look into before I pull the trigger on the weathertech liner.

In the thread linked above it looks like some received theirs with the cut outs intact. Post # 67 (@MikeLewisMusic) actually stated that they “opted to trim out for the sub and the rear seat mounts” which made be believe that all cut outs were indeed intact but that was back in October of ‘18 so wondering if they changed up the design a bit. If so will have to wait for another vender to come through as I don’t need or want any cut outs seeing as I run without carpet or a rear seat.

Called Weathertech again, sent them pics of both mats. The very helpful phone tech called back and said that's the way they come now.

That's the way mine came. Those cutouts allow you to use the mat if you leave the backseat in. I use these cutouts and the brackets for the seat to attach bungee cords as tie downs.

since we haven't been camping, this is what we got up to.

My cousin was just there a couple of nights ago. Expensive tickets depending on date and time of day.

Yes the mat does have cut-outs for rear seat. PISSES me off as that is NOT what they
show in their ad !! I wrote to them just now and will post reply. We did not receive
what is pictured in ad. For $135.00 it should be as shown. Please could all of us
contact them and tell them THIS IS NOT WHAT I ORDERED. I do want what is shown
in their ad. They must fix this for all of us.

My apologies if I am not understanding the placement / installation (no jeep yet). . . but do the cutouts for the seat mounts basically have to be there because the mounts stick up above the carpet height?

no the seat brackets go down into it. When loading stuff I use a tarp, way easy to hose off.

the cut outs dont bother me (and we need them if seat in 50% of the time like I do), but I wish the mat covered all the way down back, leaving exposed carpet and a raised lip right where you load stuff is a horrible design.


I guess my dream liner would cover up the sides (where carpet is now and gets hit by surpise rain with sides off), and cover back completely, a stronger metal cubby flap (that also locks) that had a rubber mat that integrates to rest would be amazing.

They offer one that covers past the bumpers.
