I regret picking the alpine system, it sounds like ass. To that end, I'm wondering if I could yank the sub that takes up the in floor cubby and retro fit the storage instead?

Any adverse affects (other than removing the ass sounding sub)?

Thanks!

And yanking the sub isn't going to improve things, just sayin.....

Well, it will improve the storage. Thinking you will need one of these when you are finished with the sub removal.

I ordered the Jeep without the Alpine because I wanted the storage. It is a 2 door after all. Sorry I cant help with the removal but it should be 4 screws and a some sort of a stubborn electrical plug.

The Alpine sounds great to me, probably the best of any vehicle I’ve owned..

Yeah i certainly don’t expect it to improve. I’d rather have the storage if it isn’t going to sound good (to me). Thanks for the link to be box!

You can yank it without issue. It will post codes, but they won't turn on any lights, etc. Just be aware you'll see a few entries if you do a diagnostic scan on the Jeep at any point.

I yanked mine on my JLUR immediately after buying it to make room in the back and haven't missed it one bit.

You can get a replacement blank plastic trim piece to go in its place if you want. The quarter panels on mine were 6SQ60TX7AA and 6LU84TX7AF, but @Benny might be able to confirm what the newer 2dr JLs have.
