When I load up my Rubi for an overland trip (including tire carrier mounted gas cans, water etc), the Jeep "leans backwards", i.e. the suspension springs in the back are more compressed than the ones in the front.

I have the Metalcloak 2.5" lift, and I am wondering whether it may be a good idea to install 3.5" springs in the back to level the Jeep out under load. Has anybody tried that?

Yes, that's what I did. 2.5 front and 3.5 rear.

you can go 3.5 in the back or just buy heavy duty springs like the ones ARB uses in the Old Man Emu lift kits. a set of the 2.5 inch ones and replace the metal cloak ones. go from rock crawling to overlanding.

Thanks! Looks absolutely level. I assume you have a raked look when not loaded?
Not really noticeable.

And, just for the record, fully loaded in that picture is:

- 3 kids in carseats
- wife in passenger seat
- trunk completely full
- camper rack full as you can see in the pic
- camper with 40 gal of water (that's a few hundred pounds)

Here's a pic unloaded an no camper

Looks very nice actually. You are running 35" tires?
