Late May 2022 build and I discovered a different failure mode for this common complaint. Can't get it in to the dealer before next week and we leave for Moab that same week :headbang:.

I'm assuming they'll replace the hose and constant tension clamp. Luckily, it's not a big leak and I'll bring some worm drive clamps and extra coolant, just in case our horrible local Jeep dealer doesn't fix it.

Smelt coolant when I pulled in the garage yesterday, this morning found a small puddle of coolant on the floor. Upon inspection, found this hose connection to be the issue. I can’t figure out from the multiple diagrams online which hose or connector this is…anyone know exactly which it is? I’ll take it to the dealer tomorrow…not sure it is covered, thinking not….

Why wouldn't it be covered, unless your vehicle is out of warranty?

Not to resurrect an old thread but did the dealer replace the hose & clamp? Did it work? Mine (May 22) just got back from the dealer because it was leaking from this very same place and it’s still leaking from the clamp.

They did replace the hose and clamp and it still leaked. Took it to another dealer and they just used a normal worm drive clamp in place of the factory clamp; still didn't fix the leak.

I installed a constant tension T-bolt style clamp from McMaster Carr... and it still leaks.

I'm pretty damn sure this nipple on 05048368AD is undersized and no amount of clamping will seal a hose that 'wrinkles' around it. If the dealer won't replace it and the hose again, then I will. The parts are about $110 assuming you save the coolant.

Add another data point to the set.

Was out in the middle of nowhere when I heard the fan working particularly hard for no real reason. Pulled over and the temperature started climbing. Coolant all over the gravel.

The leak wasn't flowing rapidly, so limped it to the nearest town with a combination of coolant from a kind stranger and water from my camping supplies.

Got it to the Jeep center and the bolts were completely loose.

Figured this was worth sharing because 1) I wanted to thank the posters here for pointing me in the right direction towards getting this sorted as opposed to being stranded and, 2) it happened at around 80,000km (sorry, Canadian) so already a few years of driving.

So good to keep an eye open even if you've had several years of issue-free driving!

Low coolant again. 8k miles since the last top off, and just added 8-10 more oz! I can’t see any signs of leaks.

Took mine in today for a antifreeze leak at 29k miles, dealer said water pump needs to be replaced and parts are on nationwide back order due to not having a manufacturer, same old shit with stellantis

Just happened to me today, 30k exactly on the clock. Was about an hour from home from camping with a small popup in tow. sure enough dripping like crazy. Stopped at an autozone which thankfully was right there. I was able to tighten the bottom bolt which was lose and it stopped dripping.

but was is a more permanent fix? is it locktite ?? do I take one bolt out at a time and put some blue loctite on? it doen't show that on the TSB. It literally says to just tighten to 97in# and pressure test.

So what do you all think? or do you just check the bolts from time to time?

Loctite might help, but remember that the usual method for disabling its adhesive strength is via the application of heat. That the bolts thread directly into bosses on the block (to say nothing of the inlet tube that they secure has hot coolant constantly flowing through it) means that blue threadlock might have little more than a placebo effect. Consider its absence on the TSB as instructive.

Consider torquing the bolts to spec and then recurringly monitoring that area of the engine to see if it's dry, or if additional coolant leaking is observed.

I know this is an old thread... I have a 2018 with 65K on it now. Wife was driving and said the temp shot up then came back down. Checked the reservoir and it's low. Noticed this pink/red crap below the intel connection, does this look like the 2 bolts? I haven't had a chance to check them yet. Will tighten them and add coolant hopefully this week, supposed to be cold as balls this week... perfect timing.
Funny thing is we never noticed any coolant smell. Sorry the photo sucks.

I can't tell from the picture, but I'm glad you found where the coolant is leaking from!

Was at the shopping center about a mile away from my house when I noticed coolant fluid at the bottom of the jeep. Drove home and temp remained low (less than halfway point). My garage was clean so it was a new leak. After much looking I found it was coming from the water pump inlet tube. The two bolts (fastners were loose by hand). Is there any possible damage that could have happened to my engine? Should I take it to the dealer(less than an mile) and get it done by them(if so is it free)? Or should I do it myself. I’ve read some suggesting loctite. I don’t mind doing it myself it’s just I don’t want to overlook something else that may have gone wrong because of the leak? I’m a med student so don’t have much time but I can do it myself if yall think that’s better.

There is a tsb on it. I would tighten them, go to the dealer and have them perform the tsb.
