1st Jeep wash

I personally will never go through a car wash. I wash/full detail my vehicles. It takes time but I love doing it.

What do you do for the salt and mag chloride in the winter though? Do you just leave that on until spring?

I wash throughout winter as well. I have my garage setup where I can do my washes inside and take my time detailing for hours.

I go to a company that hand washes and waxes my Jeep. They also clean the inside really well. It doesn’t cost much more then one of those full service machine wash places. I enjoy a nice overpriced latte while they detail my Jeep at the Starbucks next door.

I would never do one of those auto wash places.

What about undercarriage wash? I did 100% hand wash today but not sure if they clean underneath ?

If I need to wash the undercarriage. I will go to one of those self car wash station with a pressure washer and go about pissing the owners off (I imagine it does). Spray the underside and wheel wells really well. I will get under there and hand clean everything myself while check everything over once and while also.

Check out a Twin Peaks if you have one. Summer, they have hand car washes.

I hand wash mine. Too many things to worry about in an automatic carwash.

100% hand wash today! They have touch less tunnel too, but I panicked and told them no tunnels ? And wax applied with hands no buffer tool (there was other jeep owner there too told me I should be ok with buffer, but I was skeptical).

Unless you are planning on entering your Jeep in car shows, or off roading your Jeep (applies to you salt/snow/ice drivers), I would not worry about the underside.

If you do use your Jeep as recommended...

This "pre-wash" method gives you time to drink a beer and decide how much effort you really want to put into cleaning.

Four beers worth, at least.

Orbital buffers can do A LOT of damage in the wrong hands..............no thanks.

More so when used by the low skilled/wage employees at the quick wash places.
