Hi all,
I've got a '22 Silver Zenith non XR. Periodically, when stopped at a light or stop sign, the transmission does not appear to be in 1st gear when I start moving again. It moves, then shifts into first. Maybe this is a fuel efficiency feature (its not helping if it is)? This is my first Jeep. Anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Thanks!

Do you have your gear indicator light going? Some times when I go up to a stop sign and don't come to a stop I don't meet the requirements to let the transmission shift into 1st gear because I didn't slow down enough. (2 second rule my ass).

I started using offroad + and it went away.

Might be what's happening to you.

It is how the ZF transmission is programmed. If you do a California stop, the transmission doesn't shift to 1st fast enough and then creates this kind of hesitation as it tries to figure out if you should be in first or second. The Jeep won't go into 1st unless you are completely stopped. My Grand Cherokee did the same thing.
