No question, a stretched JL is the most capable platform. From the experts at https://www.rr4w.com/ratings.cfm 9+ trails: a minimum wheelbase 100".

I chatted with John at FloBuilt Conversions - they've done several JL stretches but they are currently booked up until 2023. At $35K for a stretch, I guess I'll live with a JLUR. He wrote the following.

Base price to perform the standard 2 door JL 12” body frame stretch (109” wheelbase) is $27,500

Base 12” JLL stretch includes standard rear roll bar modification, new wiring harness and fuel lines. Lengthening existing rear drive shaft and exhaust system. Painting the outer and inner quarter panels, inner floor area behind rear seat and outer lower rockers. Custom headache plastic panels for roll bar extension. Rear carpet modification. Bestop NX premium soft top modified for the 12” stretch.

Does not include relocating rear seat brackets. Also does not include any armor or aftermarket fenders.

Options to decide on are:

Rear tub area Bed-liner $750

Relocate rear seat mounts parts and labor $675

Upgraded rear cage to JLU option 1600

Stretched Hardtop $6000 plus your top if you have a Hardtop. If not a new hard top will be market price.

The base stretch is compatible with the stock plastic fenders and stock suspension. It also works with most aftermarket fenders, body armor and suspension systems. Let me know what fender or suspension mods you have done so far and I can verify if we have any complications. We can also do any fender, body armor or suspension upgrades you have in mind when we do your JLL stretch.

Current shop times are booked for 2022 unless we get more space and staff. If something opens up we can give you a call back. Currently booking mid to late 2023. If this is something you are interested in we can set that up.

We also sell a Builder kit for the JLL. “Available Soon”. If you know someone that has current body shop skills and/or is ICar certified in collision repair. “Highly recommended “ not something I would recommend for someone with out auto body training. Roughly 300 man hours to complete DIY conversion.

With everything you did to that JL, is there actually anything left from the Rubicon trim? or could you have started with a base model to end up the same place?

Just the transfer case and drive train. You know how it goes..."I just want to do light wheeling". And then it ends up like this!! ??

Crazy buggies!

Emily needs the seat a bit closer and taller. ?‍♂

Raina is braver than me for sure! I'd have needed a new set of pants after that tippy start.

How do they crawl up those walls so easily? I really want a wheeling set of tires now. ?

Amazing video, that buggy w/ the gearing ironed-out and aggressive tires will be a beast for sure. Can't say enough the mad respect I have for you & your wife out on the trails, just top notch builds and trail skill. Look forward to more videos when you get the time. Your buddy letting his daughter behind the wheel was really awesome, that's the stuff that kids need to be out doing, not sitting in a circle at the mall texting their friends :)
Keep up the best build on the site, you guys rock!

Thank you Brad! Really appreciate the compliments. Agree 100% on getting the kids outdoors and not stuck behind a screen!! Won't be out much this winter since I'll be doing upgrades/repairs on my rig. Would love to get together sometime to hangout as well if you're ever over in my neck of the woods.
