So I have a 2024 with that 12.3 center display and the whole screen goes black for about half a second. Strangely, it always seems to happen after about 45 minutes of driving. Anyone else’s screen done this?

I have noticed this in mine also. Didn't know if it was and Android Auto thing though. Screen flashes blank and comes right back.

No issues on mine, but I rarely use andriod auto. Maybe do a soft reset by holding the power button until it turns off and reboots?

Could be a wide variety of reasons. If it's displaying a wire/wireless device, it may be due to tower connection reset/reconnect, data buffer flush, a setting/app on the device, etc.

If you're on SiriusXM. There may be an issue with the head unit's memory not holding data and causing an error.

I assume it doesn't happen around the same location while driving. That can be caused by outside factors, strong signals or badly sheilded transformers, etc.

I don't think it's a heat issue, that would cause a reboot.

I have had that happen a couple of times when I am using car play and plugged into my iPhone.

Mine seems pretty consistent around the 40-45 minutes while using Android Auto running Waze and Spotify. Doesn't bother me all that much. It just catches my attention when the screen flashes blank black for a second.

i have a 2024 Rubi. My screen started showing some minor issues after the 6 month wifi trial was up. I tried to connect to wifi via cell phone and to the house do push an update. Didn't seems to have much luck and was still having minor issues. My Jeep screen went into a forced update about two weeks ago taking about 20 minutes. Ever since the update, my problems have gotten way worse. Freezing, black screen, loud sound when it freezes and crashes. Notable: my iPhone 14 updated to 18.2.1 before the Jeep screen update. I've tried to replace the cord to a USB C to Lightening. Dealer said everything is checking out with no errors...shocker

That sucks. Sorry to hear. I'd try 2 things of:

1. Hold the power button until it turns off to do a soft reset of it.

2. Have you tried wireless? I vaguely remember something about wired apple being dumb

I've needed to do the soft reset pretty much every time it freezes. Sometimes it crashes on its own.

I was thinking the wired cable also just because how finicky Apple can be. It has frozen while wireless as well.

Somebody mentioned Sirius earlier and that got me wondering. My Sirius connection (account) always seemed a little confused.

I've had the screen momentary blackout issue periodically since new on my 2024. Now it's progressed to a more concerning behavior.

Twice in the last two weeks my screen has done what I can best describe as a waterfall blackout - as if there's a magnetic disturbance (think "Wayne's World" fade to flashback effect)- followed by going completely black. Audio still works.

It's unresponsive to just pushing the "screen off" button (or whatever it's labeled). Holding the power button and turning it back on seems to resolve the matter, but obviously it would be best to not lose the display in the first place.

I’ve noticed mine (2024 - 6 1/2 month old Wrangler) doing this only this week. Today is the 3rd day in a row it’s happened. Sound is still there when it turns off for a split second. I’m using Bluetooth for Spotify (Apple phone). I’ll need to pay attention to how long I’ve been driving for it to happen. But so far it’s on my been on my morning drive to work which is around 40-45 minutes. Hoping it doesn’t turn into something worse.

Even with my new IPhone 16 it’s still happening. When it happens, Im using Apple Maps, and I’m on way to work. I wonder what it’s about that 40-45 minutes into that commute.

I think I narrowed down the issue. It’s happening 40 minutes of driving with the heater on. As soon as I stopped using the heater with spring, the issue never occurred again.
