Damn, those powertrain options are really disappointing.
Agreed.
Why can they not have an optional normally asperated 6 cyl motor with a manual transmission?
Yes, I get it, not many people will spec an SUV that way, but there still are some real drivers out there that like a three pedal option with an engine that is known to go for 300 kMiles.

For me, if it doesn't have three pedals on the floor board, it is a hard pass.

I like the look of them, but I have to say I am not fond of these new 2.4 turbo engines on paper. I think gone are the days where we are going to see 350,000 mile Toyotas. I just can't see these 4cylinder turbos holding out that long. Who knows......I won't be buying one though.

Looks like it will be difficult to add oversized tires to
I will say this about Built 4 Runners having owned and completed a very nice build on a 5th Gen. 4 Runners look great when they are built but they are a huge PITA to keep up once built. The geometry of those things are just not designed for that (obviously), and once you throw a 3" lift and 285's at least, you start running into issues. Both 4Runners and Tacos have a major issue with steering stability and once you start getting that shimmy in the steering wheel, it is damn near impossible to rectify.

They are best left in stock form to do light trails, and forest roads in my opinion, and that takes all the fun out of it because they are dreadfully boring to drive in stock form.

So basically Wranglers are still the best off-roaders from the factory, broncos are close second, and 4Runners are a distant third. I mean short of the price tag being preposterous, G-Wagons are just as capable off-road as 4Runners from the factory. Regardless Wranglers are still your best option for off-road capable vehicles.

I've said this before, everyone wants to compare themselves to the king, even though no one can actually compete. ?

Meh. It’s ok, like many have said I would not chose it over a Jeep. Now, if they came back out with the FJ Cruiser…that would be something different.

Interesting. Well at least now I can firmly add it to the list of options when 2025 rolls around and I'm debating on whether to keep this thing, trade it in for a 2dr (if they still exist by then), trade it in for the JM-whatever if it's out by then or just abandon ship and go back to boring vehicles ?

Jeep's gotta keep the 2dr long term, don't they? The 2dr is the Jeeper's Jeep. Even if there are way less options and trims than the 4dr.

I hope they can figure out how to do it even when things go full electric
