Hey Folks. I'm looking at a new set of wheels and tires for my Rubicon. I'm interested in a set of KMC wheels (17x8.5-0offset) that come in at 32lbs. Most of the tires I'm looking at are in the 60-65lb range. I know the impacts of unsprung weight which is why I'm trying to be mindful about the weight per corner. When I built my truck I threw a set of 20s on it and some 35s blindly (110lb per corner). It didn't take longe before brakes, wheel bearings, balljoints etc. started to go.

The setup I'm looking at is pretty much inline with the wheel/tire combo you get with the XR package but to me it still seems too high. Am I being overly paranoid about the weight? What are some of you folks at per corner just guesstimating?

Running 40's - about 131 lbs per corner. But, dumped the stock axles for stronger D60s. Thats the street version..................the offroad w/treps are 6 lbs heavier.

Running black rhino Barstow on Toyo open country ATII which is right around 105 lbs per corner. Still on stock ball joints and suspension. Changed front pads only and I am at 55k miles on a sport s.

Hope you can find some in stock somewhere too!
You ain’t just whistling either. Already had to cancel two orders because there aren’t enough wheels to make a set of 5. In each case it was going to be 3-4 months before they were back in stock.

I did get my order in successfully for the KMCs. And luckily because they only have 12 available!
