I am still willing to guess that them giving and the customer accepting the $100 still works to their advantage if there is a future legal case against them. Did you read all of the small print?

This was my initial reaction as well, but there ISN'T ANY small print, so idk how it would stand up that acceptance means waiving all rights.

Weird, the hotline phone number is the same as the one in the US emails, but the US ones say it is open 24/7. I called at 1:40am and it sounded busy. I wonder if they scaled it back or if they can simply turn it off for Canadian originated calls...Maybe I should call back and ask for an additional $8!

I think there is only 20,000 4xe in Canada

All a judge has to ask is “Were you offered compensation?” Followed by, “Did you accept that compensation?” #doublejeopardy

They also did this a few months ago, I guess related to the previous recall. Very suspicious, but the whole thing was outsourced. First a call to a noisy background center in the Philippines. But the lady I talked with already had all of my vehicle information and I did not need to supply any compromising information. Next a month later I received a spam like email with links to get an online gift card.

That surprisingly worked as well. I bought an expensive plastic bottle to keep bears out of my camping food. Ha Ha.

Why Stellantis chose to do it this way rather than a free oil change or something at a dealer is beyond me.

Lo and Behold. I just found the 68C notice in my email spam folder. Wonder what I will buy this time around. (This is all about as exciting as finding the nail in my back tire.)

I'm more upset that, as a household that FCA should have us on record as owning *two* 4xe vehicles (a Grand Cherokee and a Wrangler) we haven't gotten a single offer for the gift card

Now, I traded the Wrangler in a month ago but they probably don't have that info yet, and we still have my wife's GC

I never got the original email, but I called in and today I received two (2) $100 gift cards. Maybe the second one is for the engine fire recall.
