I received an offer for a $100 Mastercard gift card certificate via email. I'll attach a screen shot less the VIN number.

My dealership had not heard of the offer, and upon calling what is a legitimate Mopar number, I selected gift card from the directory and spoke with a nice Asian lady who was in a room filled with people calling other folks......like a spam call.

They confirm your email address, name, and VIN number to send out a certificate within 30 days. Apparently you have to redeem the certificate? Not sure what happens from there. I don't believe I compromised iinormation they already had, but I'm always suspicious of this kind of offer.

Anyone else have anything to add?

You gave them your name, email address, and VIN number? Or did they read it to you and you just confirmed it?

I responded to this, but I realize I left the attachment off the initial post. To clarify. Thet sent an email to me with my correct name, emailaddr3ss, and VIN number. Attached is the email (I deleted most of the VIN)

You have a screenshot of what the email address it was sent from is?

FCA Recall is what they're calling their account name, but what's their complete email address?

Everything I'm seeing so far points to scam. I don't know what potentially they could be taking. But the likelihood is you'll probably never receive that gift card.

That's a tough one. The email reads like a scam, but the email address from what I can tell is legit.

Like you said, You didn't seemingly give them anything they don't already have. If your name is available on your email address, that information is probably floating around the internet in all sorts of places. The fact that they had your VIN and knew how to contact you, coupled with the legit looking email address.... Who knows, maybe you'll get your gift card yet.

You'll have to let us know if you receive it. I'm guessing it's a promotional thing for people who have been in for recalls recently. 🤷‍♂️

I'm not holding my breath. I don't really care about the gift card. I'm inclined to think that it's a scam. I just wanted to know if others had received such an email. I did a search online, and such a gift card is currentlu legit. This however, is a gift card certificate that requires the person to redeem it within 90 days. A two step process seems very fishy for a company that wants to reward Jeep owners!

I had the same question and found that giftcardmall.org has a section where you can check the balance and details of the Mastercard gift card once it arrives. I used it after getting my card in the mail, and it worked fine—just needed the card number and security code from the back. It also lets you track if it's been activated yet or not.
