Like the title said, what are the possible damage that could be caused without putting my transmission to N before shifting to 4L.
I had someone drive my Jeep yesterday on the trails and they forgot to put it into Neutral before shifting to 4L and there was a big jerk and some grinding noises...
I have a JLUR with auto transmission. 2-3 times per day, something in the drivetrain causes a sharp shudder/jerk under light acceleration at low speeds. It almost feels as if it slips briefly and then catches.
I've noticed it happens when accelerating away from a stop or after low-speed...
OK. I got my JLU (Automatic)on Saturday night. On my way home from the dealer I pulled up to my first red light. The engine shut off, as expected. But as soon as it did, a message popped up in the information center that said “Shift to P Then Desired Gear”
It does this every time ESS kicks in...
