That's how I do it.

+ a gentle hand-held brush and some carwash soap and water worked in to the crevices and edges before rinsing.

- Tire shine or any kind of shine goo. Yuck.

My engine bay looks like your before picture and I have a stock 18 Sport S with no hood vents.

Please share a bit more about your cleaning process.

My original post pretty well said it all.
I soak it down with Simple Green cleaner, hose it off after a few minutes, blow off excess water (I use a leaf blower) and spray foam tire shine everywhere then wipe the excess off with a micro fiber towel.
It’s that simple.

Nice work!
When I got my jeep this year, it looked like your before pic. I was going to use simple green; but I already had dawn dish soap in my sprayer - so I tried that. Let it soak for a while then rinsed it off with hot water. Amazing results. I didn’t think to use tire shine afterwards.

Pretty much any water based cleaner should work. That Dawn would easily take care of any oil spots as well.

I'm not knocking Simple Green, because it works. I went a cheaper route and use a soap from Dollar General. It's called "LA's TOTALLY AWESOME". It comes in a gallon jug, and I use it on everything outside, cars, motorcycles, bicycle, lawn equipment, etc.

Vinman, I don't know if it's available to our Northern neighbors.

Looks great. I live on a dirt road in the country and the tire shine on tires is horrible dust and dirt sticks. Was wondering how bad the dirt would get under the hood.
