I like Vinman's idea w/ Simple Green or Uncle Art's w/ Dawn, BUT, I'd leave off the tire shine at the end - I'm sure that would make your engine bay dirtier, quicker.
In fact, I've never understood why people use tire shine (e.g., ArmorAll) even on their tires, even living in a low dust area. ArmorAll makes your tires look like they're made of plastic instead of rubber, just like the tires on those 1:25 model cars I made when I was a kid. Nothing looks better on a vehicle than the matte finish of clean, black rubber....period! (IM[no so]HO, of course)
