Heads up - second half video content doesn’t seem to have anything about the ecodiesel.
I did a lot of researching on this topic and found some profoundly informative articles, forum discussions, and engineering schematics. All the JL's have really shitty payload specs (iirc around 1300lbs max) but since the engine torque obviously isn't the issue here I wonder if it's the suspension, engine cooling, or breaking that's the limiting factor for payload across the entire platform.
You pretty much said it. This is further broken down by axle maximum and even more so by individual tire load maximums as well. then there is tow capacity and payload.Does anyone have any further insight on this discrepancy between GVWR, payload and curb weight?
As another example my JGC scales at right about 5050lb empty with a full tank of gas (and has a similar listed weight by FCA and on the registration). I don’t have the front/rear split memorized but it wasn’t too far off from 50/50. The GVWR on the door jamb is 6800, payload on the doorjam is 1050lb.
Seems to me as long as the GVW is under 6800 and axle weights are below 3200fr/3700rr as listed on the tag you’d be good, but that would equate to a payload of as much as 1750.
Europe has different towing standards and guidelines than US.Interesting... the 2.2 gets a larger tow capacity.
Only for diesel? Gas has the same rating.Europe has different towing standards and guidelines than US.
Not sure but good point. Also not sure gas Jeeps are sold in EuropeOnly for diesel? Gas has the same rating.
