@Tuckdawg
Thank you for coming back and updating with your outcome/findings. I was on a long haul trail through the eastern Sierras this weekend and was able to snag some cellular service while on a peak. 4WD was working fine for four days of straight wheelin way out into the sticks. The...
@blnewt This new cast iron steering box is interesting and is new information to me. Could you elaborate how you got that and why. Did you have the dealer do the swap as warranty or something?
Question for the group. I've been having irregular dead batteries, or very near dead. For a few months it's only happened about six times total. I've been troubleshooting for a while and I believe it has to do with the taser not allowing the Jeep to go to sleep. When the Jeep is plugged in as...
I just got back from the dealer. They put the wrong oil in again. This time they didnt put diesel oil in it at all, just bulk 5w40 synthetic!!!!
Yet again, I had to advocate for the correct oil while the parts manager countered saying the oil they put in it was "Still a great oil. It will be...
Just a heads up to everyone. Our oil Has gotten cheap(er) again. --- $7.21 a quart
Amazon Link: Pennzoil Euro
I went into the dealer today to get my final complimentary oil change and they were not able to do it. Said there is a shortage on oil supply and haven't had our oil in stock for two...
You are right. And I agree with you. People tend to really geek out about their gear and I myself have a tendency to do the same.
For the regular Joe who is looking to take good care of his equipment a small trickle charger is perfect for the job. Geeking out about anything heavy duty is purely...
@Rhinebeck01
Could you please explain why we shouldn't use a high amp charger for trickle and maintenance purposes? The trickle charger is supposed to be able to analyze the state of charge of your battery system and apply energy according to its needs. Those safety systems are literally built...
It really depends. It is not a common oil. Sometimes you can find it but most times you cannot. I feel safe by saying you probably won't find it in store at Walmart. But it's possible.
@Plongson -- you bring up a very valid point. Fiat has spent a ton of money in research and developing as low as an emission spouting engine as they can and potentially for argument's sake has decided to sacrifice engine longevity in order to meet mandated quotas in smog production. I kind of...
@Om4r
As previously stated in this thread Rotella and t6 ( the same thing) are not approved for the Gen 3 diesels.
Take your s*** back and get it fixed.And point your finger right in their face telling them that they messed up.
Finally had my first service and oil change done. I knew that I might have to go to bat regarding the correct oil so I told the service tech that my Jeep takes different oil than the gen 2 diesels and he said yeah he knew.
Fast forward and I check the parts list when picking the Jeep up and...
I haven't done the muffler delete but these types of applications, ie. changes made behind diesel emissions devices, do not affect the engine output. This would only change the tone.
I have an update. We got a local JLUR-D over to them and the patches are in Alpha phases right now. Everything is working and with luck will be pushed out in the next update.
Thanks to LottaBoot
@Parratt I've done a lot of research into this topic and this happens to be my vocational wheelhouse. The short answer, no.
The reason is two fold, and there will likely be someone who will disagree with me. The wheelbase on JLU's is too short and makes wrangler-trailer combinations prone to...
