The baffle restricts the flow of fluid, not air. Think of the baffle as a miniature dam.
Right, but the reservoir always has air in the top of it. Any air from one system would get stuck in the reservoir, no?

Now I want to look under the hood of my Jeep. :idea:

The metal deflector should be at the top, if mine are any indication. Looks like it keeps the lights from shining too high (into oncoming motorists' eyes ;) ).
