I have the 7" Uconnect and all I want to do is get better sound quality, maybe more volume, by upgrading all the speakers or just the dash and soudbar speakers, maybe the knee ones too?

I'm happy to spend a few hundred dollars doing it but I don't to deal with an amp. I just want better sound quality than I have with the factory speakers.

Recommendations?

Thanks so much.

i just completed the same process. I did not do the knee speakers yet but the other 6 made a huge difference.
Here are the 3.5" speakers I went with-
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1
And here are the 4" speakers I went with-
https://smile.amazon.com/Pioneer-TS...7068&s=car&vehicleId=5&vehicleType=automotive
And lets not forget the wiring harnesses, you will want 4 of these-
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002BET5Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And 2 of these unless doing the knee speakers then you will want 4-
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007WTEVM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And to make sure they are seated/sealed well you will want this as well-
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002ZPLPM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sounds much better than stock and was really an easy upgrade.
Good luck to you.

And that was an easy swap? I would need two sets of these, right?

What is the best choice for a underseat sub?
Incredibly easy... plug & play, and yes, two sets. I kept the stock sub for now, but poke around here... many owners have replaced their sub.

I just installed 4 of the kicker 77kick25ab speakers. Took about 10 minutes and they sound awesome. Great return for a simple $100 investment. Because they give a lot more clear sound, I notice little bits of distortion more where the cheap ones would have kind of hidden it through a lack of sound quality. But after playing with the equalizer settings for a couple days I’m finding the sweet spot and they are great. Way better quality and slightly more volume. I also got a Rockford fosgate P300-12 powered sub (has built in amplifier and is easily removable) that I’m installing this week. For 4 speakers and the subwoofer setup I’ll have about $350 invested for a system that will suit my needs. I May upgrade the remaining speakers and get them all amplified later but for now I’m happy. :like:

Looking at the 4" speakers you ordered, how do they sound?
I have replaced the 3.5" in the dash and soundbar, and its better, but the mids and bass are terrible. I was hesitant to order any 4" as the existing ones are "one-way" woofers, and the pioneers you listed are a basic 3 way speaker?

My wife and I both think they sound great, and believe them to be a huge improvement over the base stock speakers.
I played and around with the eq and fade and have them sounding great.
They were the only 3-ways that had decent reviews for a 4 inch speaker.

I have these , no need for wiring harness, its a plug and play, you need 4 of these to replace the 2 in Dash board and 2 in Roll bar.
Did the same, replaced the dash and roll bar speakers and it was a big improvement over the factory setup. You'll never get much bass out of any of these small speakers but I can definitely turn up the volume more without distortion. I bought 4 from BAM for $90 to the door though they take a few business days to ship. I'll probably upgrade the other 4 speakers later with something else.

Update: I got the fosgate p300-12 sub installed and it is awesome! For $250 you can't beat this. It's not going to win competitions but it's all the bass I need and then some. I also pulled the speakers out and stuffed the dash and soundbar with polyfil and it cleaned the sound up a lot. For $350 all in, I'm completely content with my stereo now!

Another alternative, albeit slightly more expensive. I replaced the speakers in the dash & up top with these.

lmao I remember finding those and recommending them to everyone on wranglerforums back in 2015 when I got my JK. They went from easy to find to impossible to find for several months xD

So on the JKs, the speakers are so unbalanced that most of the sound comes from the lower dash speakers. When you install those, it rebalances the sound so that more is coming from the top of the dash. Was that the case for you in the JL as well? I ask since I'm still waiting to order a JL. :)

I’m literally doing the exact same set up but I’m just going with the 10” RF powered sub.

I see they've been around for a while. I don't hear any noticeable imbalance. I typically keep the EQ settings slightly biased towards the rear and they still sound nice, but when I first installed they sounded pretty well-balanced (except for that since-resolved annoying Charlie Brown teacher-sound distortion).
