I installed BedTred today!
The instructions weren't the greatest but it is fairly straight forward. I did have to cut a couple holes on each side in the front so that my floor mats would click in.

This one looks a bit wrinkly but hopefully it will even out over time.

No idea what the plastic strip is for. lol. I didn't need it because I have a custom lock box in the back that gets bolted down.

My custom 6" tall lock box covers most of the rear cargo floor.

Nice Custom Lockbox ! The BedTred material is tough, non skid, so you don't really need floor mats. You loose the water containment with those holes, water under the BedTred not good...
I had BedTred in my JK, easy to clean, kept snow melt, salt from the metal floors in the front.

Hopefully I can contain the water in the floor mats otherwise I will have to yank out the liners and dry them.

According to the directions that come with BedTred, you are not supposed to use floor mats.

Why would you make holes in this as it’s purpose is to be waterproof? Now you will get water below the bedtred and it will not evaporate quickly and cause all sorts of issues.

I’d suggest sealing up where you made those holes and in the future RTFM.

No. It isn’t remotely waterproof when it just slides under the side plastic panel like the rug did. The floor mats catch all the water from my boots and I don’t plan on going through deep water. If I do I will just take the bedtred out and dry it. FYI, the rear bedtred has those holes precut. There are tons of places everywhere for water to get underneath.

Edit: and the purpose, at least for me, is to make it easier to clean up dog hair.

Anyone that hoses down their bedtred, thinking water won’t get underneath, will be sorely mistaken.

Someday, maybe, just Maybe, Spray In Bedliner will be an available Option, as in
"Carpet Delete"
That would be a cool factory option.

How hard would it be ? They a!ready offer Bed!iner in the Gladiator box, and the Ram trucks. Doing the JL interiors should be just as simple...

FYI, The following is the transcript from my online chat with BedRug. This is in regards to why the instructions say to not use floor mats with BedTred. Also, if you are wanting to use floor mats, I recommend using ones that have high sides to keep any water inside otherwise water will get below the floor mats and be able to migrate below the BedTred.

Hello Troy. How may I help you?

Troy
I just purchased BedTred for my 2018 Jeep JLU. The instructions say to not use floor mats with the BedTred. I was wondering why?

Nicki A****
We do not allow for the hooks to hold them in

Troy
okay, so it is just an issue with hooking the floor mats down. Thanks. FYI, the JL has metal clips that are bolted to the floor so I cut two round holes in my BedTred in order for my WeatherTech floor mats to clip in. The floor liners have tall walls so that hold any water in. Can you foresee any issues with that beside possibly no longer waranteed?

Nicki A****
I see no issues.
