Tinting Rear Marker Lights

I decided the rear marker lights were too red for me...

I used VViViD's Smoke Black tint - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KGKIGEK

I started by removing the tail lights from the fenders and really cleaning the lenses:

I cut enough off the tint roll to cover the lens with some to spare, placed it on the lens and used a heat gun to shrink the tint to fit.

A little exacto knife magic and I removed any excess.

Reattached the lights to a dirty Jeep.

This looks great! I wanted to do the same, but to the entire face...but the shape of the JL brake lights are probably impossible to wrap fully.

I did the same with the same tint. I did not remove the lights. Quick 10 min mod.

Great point! I tried tinting the whole light, and gave up after 5 minutes because (you’re right) the deep curves were impossible to wrap. The tint I was using was pretty thick and wouldn’t conform to the surface of the rear lens without big air pockets. When I tried to heat it, it would become flexible enough and split eventually.

I’m sure someone more skilled or using thinner tint would get it done...
