Cross threaded one of the lug bolts on my tire carrier (don't ask me how but I did). Wondering if I could use a die kit to re-thread or just get a new lug bolt. If I go the lug bolt route are the lugs pressed into the carrier or can it out with a hammer (after I remove the carrier from the gate.)

Just goto auto parts store, buy METRIC M14x1.5 DIE-fix
Always "FINGER" START LUG NUTS BEFORE USING AIR/ELEC IMPACT WRENCH

Good luck

I just cross threaded mine taking the lug off. Not even putting it on. Did you ever find out if you can just replace the stud?
