Moab - What's the Purpose?

Prospective first-time Jeep owner here. I've been comparing trim levels for about a month and I'm puzzled by the Moab. I mean, aside from the hood decal and wheel options, it seems like its basically an well-optioned Sahara. Or rather, a Rubicon without the more-extreme off -road bits. Some trim comparison listings don't even seem to recognize the Moab. Why does the Moab exist? What am I missing here?

Moab exist in the same manner a fully loaded Sahara exist.. like my Sahara.

I wish my Rubicon had Selectrac/whatever they call the AWD system. I didn't like how city the Sahara looked. Moabs a great in between.

The Moab is basically a special edition Sahara with a few Rubicon features. It's a dressed-up and options loaded Sahara targeting the Wrangler buyer that doesn't want to mess with aftermarket add-ons for hard core off-road use.

MOAB is just a loaded Sahara with the Rubicon hood, so unless you want every option just order a Sahara with the options you want and add the hood, that is what I did as there are several options I did not need, I then bought the Rubicon hood for $735 plus $300 for paint.

This question has been pondered through the ages, I think Plato has written about it. There are 3 trims of Jeep wrangler JL- Sport, Sahara and Rubicon. Think of MOAB as the ugly step sister that crashes the party uninvited. In other words you nailed it on your post above. Its just a Sahara with a Decal......

Or you could describe the Moab as a Sahara that wears its clothes from Saks Fifth Avenue vs. a standard Sahara that wears JC Penney clothes.

I have both a rubicon and Moab, I like them both, the Moab rides better, I am not rock climbing, I don’t have time, Like I said I have 2 new jeeps and 2 BMW’s, no time to rock climb
