Hi all,
First time Jeep owner here. I took ownership of my 2018 JL Unlimited Sport with the 2.0 engine in the beginning of February with 238 miles on it. I was pretty enthused to get this vehicle, but as of today I'm feeling quite the opposite. First issue I had with the vehicle was that my phone didn't work with the radio as soon as I drove it off the lot. An initial call could be made or received, but once the call ended there would be a loud pop over the speakers. After that neither party could hear each other for any incoming or outgoing calls. At first I thought this issue could be corrected with a software update from Android Auto so I waited a bit. The radio ended up being defective so it was replaced. On my way home from getting the initial diagnostic done for the radio I had my check engine light come on and while driving on the highway at 70 mph the engine would lose power. I got to my daughter's house, called the dealership, turned around to go back and had the power loss issue happen 3 more times while driving on the highway to get to the dealership. After they ran another diagnostic they stated it was an oil pressure code and that the after the first diagnostic was done they were supposed to do a recalibration and that was the cause of the power loss issue. The service dept fixed the issue within a half hour and I was good to go. All of these issues occurred towards the end of March. Fast forward to this past weekend on Sunday- while out running errands a flashing check engine light came on, and the stop/start error message came one as well. The engine would then shudder at idle and while driving the engine would shudder and hesitate to shift gears, and was a good deal louder than normal. I called the dealership that day, had it towed to the dealership yesterday, and then found out about 2 hours ago today that there was signficant low oil and a significant amount of damage to the engine and it needs to be replaced. I have under 2800 miles on this Jeep and have only driven it on-road. According to the NYS new car lemon laws there has to be multiple attempts to repair the vehicle before it can be eligible for a buy back. At this point I'm not feeling I want it at all and am very disappointed in this vehicle.Opinions, suggestions or anyone with similar experiences? Please let me know. Thanks!
