Used a channel lock plier with a rag to protect from scratches to get the stuck wipers off. Strapped the windshield down with the Mopar velcro straps. They worked well. Took the kids for a ride and they loved it. Can't hear the stereo! Put some lithium grease on the spindles before putting the wipers back on. Got more waves than usual. Makes JK people jealous.

Itā€™s much harder on a JK than any other CJ/Wrangler. Far more bolts.
The TJ was no slouch too though, what with disconnecting the roll cage bar. Iā€™ve never folded the windshield down on a JK, youā€™re saying it was even more of a pain than the TJ? Damn.

One compromise with the JL that I assume enables it to be so easy is that the A-pillar stays where it is.

No JL for me yet, but I bought a rechargeable ratchet wrench just to be able to drop my LJā€™s windshield faster. I love it when itā€™s above 80Ā°.

That feature alone made me very interested in the JL.

The silver looks really nice. I would consider that color, but ending a lease on a 2016 Mini Cooper S that is... silver!

Folded mine down today for the first time, too.

With all the reports of how easily the windshields are cracking on the JL's, I think you just figured out the best way to protect it. Just put the damn thing down! Lol!!! Looks great and I love your Ocean Blue! I have 3 dealers scouting out for my Ocean Blue JLUR out there right now!

There are at least 24 bolts for the JK. Best time Iā€™ve heard is 40 minutes; I can do it on my LJ in about 15, much faster if I leave the sport bars off during warmer weather when I know Iā€™m going to do it regularly.
