Particularly for Rubicon drivers, how does it ride and handle compared to the stock Rubicon set-up? One of the things impressing me most about the JLUR is the ride and handling. How did the Mopar lift with Fox shocks change it? Does it feel similar? Stiffer? Softer? Body roll?

Just curious, as I sit here waiting for my lift and tires.

Thanks!

I've got one on order as well. I'm just wondering how the gate will handle the spare.

If this kit is anything like your common budget boost JK lift or AEV kit where the stock geometry remains mostly the same, I seriously doubt the ride quality will change at all. Obviously, the Jeep will need to do more work to rotate the tires, but a lot of the shops that have been tinkering with their JLs for testing and engineering of their own products state that even with 37s installed, the tweaks to the Pentastar in combination with the much better gearing of the much better 8-speed auto state power loss is almost negligible compared to the JK, especially with 4.10s. None of us can speak for the 6-speed manual, but it's also improved in every area, so you'll probably be just fine.

As for shocks, I'm still a Bilstein fanboy and argue the 5100 is the perfect shock for 35s using any JK lift, but I've also wheeled and driven in a JK with Fox shocks and they do the job just fine. I'm not aware of anyone who's installed them and wish they'd gotten something else.

I know, you want someone who's actually done it to chime in, but I think we're both going to be more than satisfied.

I'm watching them put the KO2's on my Jeep right now. The tailgate fit is the big question. I'll let you know, hopefully in a minute or two...

Sorry for the long wait....It fits....Sort of. It is resting on the lip of the bumper. Barely. I could put a couple washers on it to move it out a little and it might not touch. As is, it touches, but it does not hinder in any way the opening or shutting of the tailgate....more coming in a bit. I'm still working, but wanted to answer that question.

Ok, so the tires feel awesome. They don't wander all over the road like I feared they might. They ride and feel pretty much exactly like the 285 KO2's. Power loss is there, but not much. The thing still accelerates hard, especially in 1st and 2nd gear, where it really is barely noticeable. I notice it a little more in the taller gears, but I won't be able to really assess the difference until I get the speedo corrected. The bottom line is that it handles and rides great, and the 1" lift from the tires is very noticeable, too, which I really like. The steering feel didn't change, at all. From the driver's seat, it feels like a wonderful beast. I can't wait to feel it when the 2" lift goes on. The all around driveability doesn't feel like it changed much at all. When it is all said and done, I'll get this thing off-road, where it belongs. It should be amazing, and it will have a better break over angle than my previous Jeeps, by a pretty good margin, not to mention ground clearance under the axles.

The tires barely stick out behond the flares...the sidewall bulge is what does, but the tread is right in line with it. Perfect, in my book. I don't want them outside those flares. There will be enough crap thrown up by them, as-is. I don't want more. Plus, it just looks right, to me.

As for the KO2's themselves, I love them! They are quiet and handle very well. Again, I love the ride with the stock Rubi shocks, so I'm hoping the Fox shocks don't change that too much.

I got the 35 Cooper ST MAXX and love them. Absolutely best tire I've ever owned. Got them in a D rating and they are more quiet than stock, but much more aggressive.
