I’m picking up my Ocean Blue Rubicon next Saturday, but I’ve had a lot of time to play waiting for her. While I really like the sheen of the red Rubicon dash, I don’t like the Superman color scheme of a red dash on a blue Jeep, so I purchased a take-off dash from another forum member and wrapped it in Satin Chrome Dark Blue Matte vinyl and love the look. Here it is next to some hinge protectors that I painted Ocean Blue.

WOW - looks great. Can anyone do that or do you have skills?

Installed the Mopar fuel door I got off Amazon (see link below). I was going to order an aftermarket one because they’re a lot cheaper, but ended up getting OEM as I was reading some occasionall fiittment issues with some of the other options. Below is a link to an install video too, but it’s important to note the taillight is removed with a T40, not a T30 mentioned in the video. A 10mm socket will work too.

Despite reading complaints about the difficulty removing the old part, I found it easy by releasing three of the four tabs I could reach, then wiggling till it came out. Install is easy too. Just slide it over the filler neck, line up the tab at the top with the notch in the bodywork, then press till it clicks.

Looks good, and seems to be a quality part.

WOW - looks great. Can anyone do that or do you have skills?

I’ve done one other simple thing, so I’m a relative novice. I did watch a lot of YouTube on the process. They are challenging pieces and after a bit of learning, took me about 3 hours per piece (and $13 In vinyl). The round vents are challenging and you have to play with the fact that the vinyl will expand and shrink in order to create a wrinkle-free application.

It does show what can be done and if you like the look and don’t have the time to learn, you could take to a professional. There are similar vinyls for all current Jeep colors including Mojito, Punk’N and Hella Yella.

Finally installed the @Dominion OffRoad stealth hi-lift jack mount. Easy install. Firm fit, no rattle. Just need to clean it up by trimming the factory plastic end caps which cover the brackets/mount. Add on for shovel and axe is next!

JL falcon 2.2 EF shock sent back to Teraflex. They are going to put a JK 1 5/8 clamp on it for my Steersmarts tie rod. Coming soon. Will post pictures when I get it installed.

@nerubi , So you slap on the title "Tech" or Service Manager or .....on some smuck and that deems a guy/gal to be honest and above grabbing a pricey flashlight or a pair of pricey sunglasses out of a vehicle... Yeah alright.........

I have held both of those titles and in the years I have been in the business I haven’t heard one customer make that accusation against me or any of my tech’s .. not saying it doesn’t happen .. I can think of a lot of other “titles” that are more likely to screw you over ..

Very true, but no one here will agree that it’s a smart move to leave cash, wallets, guns, radios, garage door openers, and other items in a vehicle,at any time. In a dealership there are valets, porters, techs, salespeople, night cleaning crews and an assortment of people all with access to your vehicle.

Taking valuables out prior to service makes sense to protect you and them. I have at work over
200 field workers and when working in existing occupied facilities we encourage our customers to remove items off desks and take any important stuff with them. It eliminates any accusations either true of falsified.
