Very nice - how hard was the installAdded a dual USB accessory outlet on top of the dash. I keep my phone on the dash so I can run my dashcam app. Now I can keep my phone charged without running cables to the 12 volt DC adapter.

Not too bad. Tricky parts were cutting the hole in the dash and running the wiring down to the glovebox area... Making the hole on top of the dash was the most stressful part because I was cutting blindly into the dash and not really knowing what was behind where I was making the hole. I did drill a small pilot hole first, then make sure I wasn't going to cut anything.Very nice - how hard was the install
On my JK with Mopar steps my rear fenders look like a teenager with acne. But I have big tires so coverage by the steps can only do so much. Because of that and the windshield full of rock chips I am working on a force field to surround the Jeep and eliminate those problems. Just need to figure out how to generate 1.3 gigawatts of electricity to power it.I think they look great! I also ordered painted fenders. It would be a nice added feature if they help protect the paint. I may have asked this before? Do the steps help with preventing rocks, mud and dirt from spraying the doors and rear fenders? Thanks again for the pic!
I heard a rumor that the windshield folds down. I said no way, that would make drilling a hole in the top of the dash way too easy. But then he took out 4 bolts and my jaw dropped along with the windshield. I am now going to believe everything everyone tells me.Not too bad. To make the hole, I had to heat up a hole saw bit and use it to melt the hole. I went this route because I couldn't fit my drill and drill bit on top of the dash without hitting the windshield.

Very funnyI heard a rumor that the windshield folds down. I said no way, that would make drilling a hole in the top of the dash way too easy. But then he took out 4 bolts and my jaw dropped along with the windshield. I am now going to believe everything everyone tells me.
My JK had the usual black plastic fenders so I really did not think or care about anything hitting them. I went for painted fenders this time around so I am hoping the steps help. I gave up on flux capacitor technology in favor of dilithium crystals for the deflector shield. On my JK with Mopar steps my rear fenders look like a teenager with acne. That's funny....I heard a rumor that the windshield folds down. I said no way, that would make drilling a hole in the top of the dash way too easy. But then he took out 4 bolts and my jaw dropped along with the windshield. I am now going to believe everything everyone tells me.
I think it looks great. Great idea and a elegant solution for the hole. How much room is there under the dash where you drilled or I mean melted the hole? Thanks. That's funny....
I opted to not fold down the windshield for two reasons:
1. Using a drill with the hole bit would make a mess with shavings dropping down into my dash. I didn't want that.
2. Heating up a hole bit and melting a hole is waaaay easier than removing wipers, removing freedom panels, and folding down windshield. Not to mention hoping to get a good seal on the windshield when putting it back up. Plus, this method didn't cause any shavings to fall down behind the dash.
At the end of the day, I did what I thought was the best method for me to achieve what I wanted. To each his own, bro. Besides, this thread isn't about detailing specific procedures of how you did what you did to your Jeep. Rather, it's simply about what you did to your Jeep.
