does anyone have any thoughts regarding a hardtop garage hoist system for 2018 Rubicon JL? If been searching all the familiar sites and was hoping someone in the forum may have feedback. The ones I am looking at currently are the
Lange Originals 014-910 Power Hoist-a-Topfor 18-19 Jeep Wrangler JL 4-Door Unlimited or the Garage Smart Universal Hardtop Lifter with Bluetooth. Definitely want something with power. Thanks, Art.

I put up the racor lift. It is awesome. Also gives a place to store the soft top when the hardtopmia being used. It is not powered by plugging in but uses a power drill. Goes up and down super easy. Here is a pic woth soft top on as I have not had a chance to pull the hard top yet.

I also bought the Topsy brackets that attach to the window hinges to make lifting even easier and won’t damage the window seals.

A couple of two by fours, (4) lag bolts, (4) eye bolts, and (4) ratchet straps and your set for less than $40 in material and an hour in labor. Below is a you tube vid of a guy that did the same solution.

There are over 256 posts on this other thread about ways to remove the hard top.
Does it bother you that someone asked a question that’s already been asked? You could’ve been helpful with the link instead of being snarky.

The link is in the upper section of the post of my reply - see screen capture below. I kept the original person's link who posted within my reply so the link would be available. No snarkiness intended. I was trying to be helpful since there is so much valuable info in the additional thread. Maybe it doesn't show the entire reply / post on a mobile device?

This option looks interesting. I looked up the product on Amazon, and there are some users that are citing quality issues. Have you had any issues with your lift? Did you do any modifications?

I did upgrade the cams, also a topsy product just be safe. I have had no issues but it does need to be installed properly just like anything else.

Lift with topsy hooks on the back window = amazing.

I tried the eyebolts and ratchet strap technique, and yeah it works, but the hoist is so much nicer to use.

I recommend the Lange power hoist. Easy to use. I would store my JK top months at a time and never had any issues. Sorry no pictures of install, but I did it alone in a couple of hours, so I imagine almost anyone could do it. I could easily lower it down all the way if I wanted to store the freedom panels with it. Will do the same for my JLUR. Live in different house now.

This is what I used for 4 years with my JK. Will use it with my JL as soon as it gets warm enough. It works great. I put the freedom panels on top when I remove the top. I bought it off Amazon. The only thing of poor quality is the bolts you attach it to the ceiling with are a very cheap/weak metal and the heads snap off if your not careful. I read about the issue before installing mine and went to the hardware store and bought better bolts.

I actually ordered the Racor from Amazon and UPS sent it back before it got to me. Guess the package was damaged. I took it as a sign and just yesterday installed some d ring cargo anchors with lag bolts instead of eye hooks. Like having two attach points per anchor versus the eye hook.

Used cam buckle straps and it was a piece of cake. Cost about $30. I’d still rather have something elegant like the Racor but I don’t plan on doing this much as I have the dual top group. I think I’ll end up running the soft top more.

I second the bad bolts. I think I broke 3 heads off
