I spent awhile looking at the different options for tailgate tables and MOLLE storage. It came down to the Springtail for me because of all the positive feedback and the price point was pretty good.

The install was very easy and it is really solid. The best part: ZERO rattles. None. I bought some cheap MOLLE bags on Amazon but I’m going to buy the Springtail bags to get enough room for recovery gear. Highly recommend.

Also, in case anyone else wants cargo security, this does work with the slipstream.

Yeah, the amazon bags are ok for the back of the seats, but I don’t see them holding a snatchblock, straps, shackles, etc. The bags from Springtail look a lot nicer and bigger. The biggest of the amazon bags was about 1/2 the size of the large Springtail bag

Which bags are you talking about....I'll give you an honest comparison if I know them?

This is good to know. Thanks! I have the Springtail table and will likely get the Slipstream once they smooth out their JL issues.

I went with the Springtail Solutions tailgate table, too....installed it this weekend. My choice came down to the Mopar and the Springtail. I went with the Springtail because it seemed, by description from others, to be higher quality....and I like the fact that the edges turn up, not down. This gives the table a “confining edge” and it allows for additional storage between the folded table and the mounting backplate. I can understand why these do not rattle....they are very tight and very well thought out. I got their kit that contained two of their Molle bags....they are high quality and are highly versatile. I only put one of them on for now, along with my portable shovel. The other is for first aid and I haven’t got it packed with the things I want, yet.

I got the Springtail bags in and they are way better than the Amazon bags, at least for use with the folding table. I’ve got them loaded up and I can pull them right off the Velcro and take them with me if needed. Great products as well.

That rip away will work way better if you interweave the straps a bit...then the Velcro panel won't pull away when you tug off the bag.

Hi Doc,

Does your table work with the TrailRail system? I got that with my 19 JLUR so I ordered the Mopar but willing to ditch it for yours even though I haven’t even gotten the Mopar one in the mail yet.

So here's the deal with the Trail Rail system.....If you mount the Springtail table, it will completely cover the trail rail and render it completely useless (not that it has any particular use that I have been able to discern anyway :)).

We figure that the best way to handle that situation is to pull the trail rail and replace it with the small plastic panel that was originally in its place (like every other JL). That piece can be ordered from your local Jeep dealer for about $12.00 and is usually delivered to the dealer in about 3 days.

Personally, I would just sell the trail rail on ebay to recoup the costs.

On a side note....I would not mind having a look at someones cargo floor trail rails to see if I could come up with a better solution.

Thanks Doc! I'll check with the dealer on that part. Would photos help of the floor trail rails? I can send later this afternoon Left Coast time.

Photos will help but I will actually need to get some in hand to evaluate them and see where we can improve on the design.

I have yet to see them in person as the seem unobtainable except as an ordered option with a new JL
