Made a custom mounting bracket for my front bumper's light bar from a pair of old garage door brackets. At some point in time I replaced my two garage door opening systems and thought these thick metal pieces may come in handy some day. Well the day has come! I took the 90 degree bracket and installed them on my new Jeep's front bumper inside mounting bolts. I had to ream out the bracket's hole just a little bit that went into the bumper's bolt hole.

Here's a view from above of one of the bracket's installed and a front shot view of the other bracket installed.

I attached to the inner bumper bolts.

This is only a 26 inch light bar (a 32 inch would've been a better fit), so I had quite a gap between the bracket and the light bar so I 3D printed a spacer (about 55mm long).
Here's my 3D printed spacer to fill the gap between the bracket and the short lightbar.

Fearing the lightbar would still rotate cause those two bolts holding the lightbar on to the brackets can never be tightened enough and create an axis on which the bar could rotate, I 3D printed off another bracket that would insert into the lightbar's cooling fins about 3/4 of an inch and mount onto the bracket with the other two holes on the metal bracket.

Here's what the spacer and bracket look like installed:

Finished off with some Testor's gloss black paint on the bolt heaeds. Top view of the spacer and bracket:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notice also I was able to re-install the plastic strip between the bumper and grill. I had to hand saw some slits in the plastic piece to accommodate the brackets.

The final look:

Considering a custom bracket would've cost me more than the lightbar itself, I feel pretty good about this McGyver type installation! I hope I've inspired someone else to do the same.

Installed the UPR oil catch can today! Took about 30 mins total

I’ve read these are basically a waste of money as much as I’ve read they do nothing but help the engine. Just curious... are you in the “can’t hurt/got it for off-roading” camp or do you believe this will help with daily driving?

If it collects any oil/contamination then it’s worth the money in my opinion. It will also eliminate the issue with blow by in certain off roading angles. No doubt it’s a good investment.

Spot on. I sprayed it from a distance to get a textured look like the bumper and my tube doors.
