Added the Falcon Nexus EF 2.2 adjustable steering stabilizer (no pics, there already plenty elsewhere in the forums), so far seems to handle much better. The medium setting seems just a bit more responsive than stock. Certainly better control over some of the many rough patches of intestate around here. The firm setting seems to be just a bit stiffer than on the 2016 Durango special service package I drive for work. Only drove it around the block in that setting so far, though. I think it will handle well on the open highway or in high winds.

Also added Synergy 1 5/8” wheels spacers. Really gave me the look I wanted, tires stick out just enough for me. Might be just my imagination, but seems to have affected the overall ride for the better as well. Only really put about 15-20 miles on it last night.

When I called to place the order I told them the model of the Jeep. They sent the correct blades. So I do not have the exact part number.

I cut the black wire that leads to the switch. The other end of the black wire splits off into two, one for each blade.

You can program the switch setting in the settings app on your Uconnect. When set to ignition, the heated wipers will turn off when the engine is off, but will stay on if the ignition is on "ACC". They will not turn on automatically. You have to press the "AUX3" button to turn them on.

That's great, thank you very much. Will be ordering mine very soon, are you still happy with them and would recommend?

Your wheels and tires look great, Tritonman. Would you be kind enough to give me your honest opinion of the ride provided by those E-rated beauties and what tire pressure you're running? I have young grandchildren and really, really don't want to subject them to a harsh ride, but as I'm sure you learned, finding good 18" tires that aren't E-rated is tough. Thanks!
Thank you for the compliment!

I'm with you on not wanting the harsh ride. I have had many jeeps with many builds and i'm at a point where i'm focusing on daily driving over offroading (which i do frequently). That being said, i am very happy with the ride quality of the E-Rated KO2's. I can honestly say that there is not that much of a difference in feel between the stock C-rated and the E-rated. Im currently running them at 33 psi, which for me is a nice balance between feel and tread life. I drive an hour each way just for work each day and it's an almost stock feel. I will say that the bigger bumps in the road you do tend to feel a little bit more but it's definitely tolerable and acceptable. I was expecting a much rougher ride and was ready to deal with the ramifications of getting an 18" tire E-rate but was pleasantly surprised by the ride quality and smoothness.

The KO2 in my opinion, is an E-rated anomaly. It's one of the lightest A/T tires weighing in at 67.5 pounds at my size.

I noticed a bit of sag overhead as well... I pulled the front more towards the windshield & it's tightened up a bit... Less sagging, but I don't think it's gonna be an issue. I'm only 5'8" & my head doesn't touch the top, but if I had a giant Oscar Gamble afro it could be a problem. Dated reference for many... by now you've checked the Google & should get a chuckle out of it.

I haven't had a chance to road-test it, but I will tomorrow. Aesthetically, it beats the alternative...the Styrofoam roof.
I got a chuckle without the use of google, my problem is that I am afro-less but 6'2" and when it sags it skims my head. I spent most of the fall pushing the straps forward and tightening them down and it lasted for about a day before the sag returned. It really isn't that big of a problem and it doesn't take away from me really enjoying the product.

Thank you very much for your impressions regarding the ride quality of your E-rated KO2's. They help a lot and go a long way in allaying my concerns about making a big and expensive mistake in buying the wrong tires. I'm strongly leaning towards a set of KO2's in my Sahara's OEM size of 255/70R18. I prefer the older offroad style of the taller, narrower tires I grew up with and the KO2 tires in this size happen to be D-rated. After reading your comments, I feel confident they will serve me well and won't be an issue regarding the ride they'll provide. Thanks again!

Smittybilt atlas hinge steps for JK. Modified to fit JL with proper torque by filling the conical void in hinges with self forming rubber and 2x 5/16" flat washers in each bolt hole.
Paint matched the step to my accent color 6 coats. Chrysler inferno.

What slider/step is that? Looks like it installed over the standard Rubicon rock rail.

Yeah a lot of people have that question. First I’m using the factory hard top bolts rather than the GPCA screws @lightsout used. So someone could come unscrew those if they really wanted to. However, Diabolical actually thought about that and they have a metal piece that goes under the lip in order to secure it so someone couldn’t come in and just unscrew the lid. He also uses carriage bolts to prevent this. The top panel does secure under the lip of the tailgate as well so once the Jeep is locked it is secure even when the top is off (when the top is off reaching around the door to try and hit unlock button won’t work. The power locks are disabled once it is locked). That being said someone could come, with a lot work, and pry it open if they really wanted but I’d imagine it would take some power tools and a few pry bars.

To add to Marks comments regarding the Slipstream it is designed to keep honest people honest, just like a trunk of a car if someone wants in bad enough they could get in, however it would take some work and specific tools and there would be a lot of noise.

Here is a drawing of the Slipstream if you look close at the wing-top you can see the underside part that clamps the wing-top to the Jeeps bed rails.

Here’s a good review and install of the Tuffy secure storage. I asked him if he considered the Slipstream and he said did and thus went with the Tuffy. I’m on the fence between the two.

I've had both and have the slipstream on my JL now. The slipstream is way better. I like the full coverage deck the slipstream offers. The tuffy is simply a box in the middle with sides still open. Doesn't securely cover all the space.

I wouldn’t doubt he already has plans for it. He’s doing one for the two door TJ with the rear seat removed right now.
I emailed back and forth with Alan this week regarding this. Seems his issue is having access to a 2-Door to which he can fit up. Wish I lived closer to Utah, I'd be glad to volunteer mine for the purpose.

Butting in here. I just got the Diabolical installed today. I had the Tuffy installed on my JK. From what I can see it is pretty much the same product on the JL, although the JL version has a rod that props up the cover. I liked my Tuffy however I am loving this new Diabolical cover. Granted I’ve have had this only a few hours. I’ll give a more impressions when I’ve put it through the ringer but here are a few reasons why I chose the Diabolical over the Tuffy.
  • I like being able to fold over the cover part way. This allows you fold the lid back completely.
  • More storage vs the Tuffy. The tuffy closes off the sides which closes off what you can fit under the lid.
  • The pins they use make it a lot easier to pull the lid off and put back on.
  • I really like the being able to access it from the front. That door is very convenient.
  • I saw a post on QC. I haven’t experienced that at all. I’m thinking that was out of the norm. Mine was great.
  • Customer service: Alan from Diabolical was very responsive to emails. Mater fact he went out of his way on that side. I happen to live in Utah where they are located and he spent the last two hours helping me with the install. Not a normal thing but it was greatly appreciated.
  • While I was with him installing he was giving me a few details on what he has planed for the future products. I’m really excited to see what he has in the pipeline.
For what it’s worth I have no ties to Diabolical. I just did a lot of research and I am happy with the product so far. I’m more than happy to answer any questions.

That’s awesome. I got it tonight and unpacked it to inspect. Damn near perfect. Now for the install this weekend.

I've had one experience with Tuffy products. Now I believe I'm a fair person and my honest opinion of the Tuffy security console unit for the JL is that it is a poorly engineered POS which I promptly returned for a refund. They may have other products that are great.
