Well, @Rhinebeck01 , your self proclaimed, Tazer JL fanboy, uninstalled his Tazer JL Mini today. Oh my.... 8-)

Yup, I needed a change... Indeed, the Tazer JL, has always pleased me and I talk it up lots.... but this ole guy needed a change, something new, so....

I might add that I have been really interested / curious about this slightly similar offering I am going to try..... and ... I am finally, getting my chance to try it out.

Anyway, on Thursday, I'm headed off to Florida for a few weeks. I'm in NY now.. Will be driving the JL to Florida, non-stop..

I will install the forum sponsor's product offering, just before I leave. Will be posting what I think of it...

Love the rear ones, hate the front ones.

The front ones are always in my line of sight, and if you get any speed on a dirt road, they start thumping the front windows loudly. I don't seem real comfortable with them as a driver, and havent' seen one passenger in my jeep do anything other than play with them for a second or two.

The rear ones are spot-on for the rear passengers (so I'm told) and don't seem to thump the windows.
Bartact grab handles made out of 550 paracord. Good quality, substantial material and they don't flop around. You can get them at 4 Wheel Parts for $50 a pair.

Searching for an answer! I have a 2018 JLUR then I measured the back axle outside diameter and it was 9”13/16, Measured the front axle and it was 8 5/8 OD is that normal? I thought Mopar went to the bigger axle housing looks like they did with the back not the front?

Thank you for your compliments. That said, I couple of thoughts here @Turfman . @OkieMizzou remains silent but you feel that his reply, of "You've got to be kidding. Really?!" ***might*** be compliment coming from a guy who proposes to outfit his rig https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/back-from-bangkok-overland-build.19721/ with more purchased gear than I spent--by a large margin--on my first car? Even with one sentence, does this guy really strike you as the DIY build it yourself hack sort? Did you check this link before you replied? It was in my response, and I certainly did.

And again, mod your rig with purchased gear: fine by me, in fact me too.

You may be missing some reading between the lines here, I say matter of factly, not condescendingly to you. @Rhinebeck01 would never like a post aimed in my direction unless it was derogatory. Ask him yourself. I think there's a better chance of getting mauled by a Snow and Brown bear on the same day than this post of @OkieMizzou 's being complementary. (Now go change your like @Rhinebeck01 .)

Still more, I think you missed something. I couldn't care less of someone doesn't like a hack I put forth. What gets me is when some newbie or for that matter relatively seasoned participant is treated with sass, or, in this case, provides it. I assure you, while no way am I a moderator, the moderators also big here on decorum. In fact it more bothers me when it happens to others, than me.

I don't think I came down on him too hard at all. He's 20 posts in and he's putting down people's creativity all while offering none of his own? I don't know if ignorance of its existence prior to making his own build thread or self-indulgence finds him not putting his build progress where everyone else does. Let him get the message loud and clear that the bboard is a collaborative place, which means he "ups" the useful information he provides and "downs" the criticism of others good intentions. This isn't to say he can't offer his opinion or constructive criticism, but I don't think it will kill him to earn some good will points here first.

I doubt he walks with his tail between his legs. If he does, let it motivate us all, myself included, to think twice and post once here.
Well... forgive me for being glib.

#1 - You are correct. My comment was not a compliment. However, nor was it a derogatory statement. I simply asked if you were kidding about your "DIY Grab Handle" made from a carabiner and zip ties purchased at Harbor Freight. Apparently, you were not. And believe it or not, that would have been the end of it for me because I honestly had zero intention of telling you how ridiculous I think it is. Especially when there is a veritable plethora of affordable grab handles on the market.

#2 - Regarding your comments about my build... Anything you put on a Jeep will cost more than our first cars. My first car was a Pontiac Astre with a primer coat paint job for $600. That being said, $600 buys a lot of stuff at Harbor Freight.

#3 - Who cares how many posts I have or how long I've been on the forum. 'Macht nichts...'

#4 - Your comment about me "obviously not being a DIY Hack kind of guy." You are absolutely correct. I don't 'hack' anything. Btw, there is a difference between a clever hack and a hack job.

#5 - This is a public forum. Being as such, when you put yourself out there you need to be able to accept that not everybody is going to agree with your opinions. As I mentioned before, I had no intentions of publicly lambasting your beloved hacks but since you're making it such a big deal out of it...

*** Remember... You wanted this. ***

#6 - Your homemade roof rack is comical. It's downright awful and one of the silliest things I've ever seen. But who cares what I think, right? You pride yourself on all the 'hacks' you've posted on the forum. Well, you nailed it with this: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/threads/diy-no-hole-roof-rails.10580/#post-253825. That roof rack is the crème de le crème of hack jobs. But hey... you do you. And please... don't ever remove the thread link to your homemade roof rack. Let it stand as a symbol of your rugged individualism. The indomitable pioneering spirit that sets you apart from "the people who just buy things and put them on their Jeep". As for me? I'm just going to order a professional, quality made product that won't fall apart the first time I load something on it and drive away at anything faster than neighborhood speeds.

#7 - No, I don't walk around with my tail tucked between my legs.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Therefore, Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you: RussJeep1's, "Built - Not Bought" roof rack/grab handle combo set. It is the "Pièce De Résistance" of homemade wizardry.

Number of posts, nor likes, means nothing. I'm under 200 posts, but I know a HELL of a lot more about these Jeeps than many members with thousands of post. Because posting "Welcome to the forum," commenting that you like everyone's pics, or asking any and all questions that pop into your head means nothing (not saying you do that, but we all know many who do). Don't even get me started on some of the threads unrelated to Jeeps where people seem to talk forever like the forum is their only source of friends

I generally stay silent, chime in when necessary, and come here mostly to soak up all of the info many appear to miss out on.

This weekend I put on @ROAM Rock Rails & a custom Gear Shade (Outside: gray, white, black digital camo; Inside: black & red digital camo). So yeah, I took my top off for the first time. :)

The color is fan-tabulous.

Got some close up pics of the Gear Shade inside and out?
The inner side looks a little washed out in the sun, which was expected. But when the top goes back on, the colors should look much deeper. As for the outer side, I think the camo graphic I made had slightly too much white, but it still came out great & I did want more heat rejection of that Florida sun.

I really like the lock of the stinger and lights. Looks like there is a whole thread just on the stinger - maybe this stinger could keep me from buying a whole bumper.

What LED lights are those? Google points me to LP9 (which I know they are not)

Well, not quite today, but Sunday, I put scratches/dents and dings on under body protection. Ran Chinaman's Gulch in CO. https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/255-chinaman-gulch-co

Had some issues come of after we came off the trail 1st issue, the steering issue at about 60MPH, the steering gets tight, almost as if there is air in the power steering system. This one is challenging because I live in CO, there are few straight roads around me. The second lesser one is the speedometer was off by about 20MPH initially, but that corrected itself after it being in the garage overnight.

I did smack the stock sliders hard enough to make contact with the body and dent it.:crying:
But there is good in there, I got to spend the day with the wife and some other cool folks on the trail. Oh and my ROAM frame mounted slider/steps are on order as of right now. Next up, lift and 35s.
