New front bumper. Covered in Rust. Doesn't fit either.

Decided to try out a DV8 front bumper that was a decent black Friday deal. Well it finally showed up and the box looked fine so I signed for it. To my disappointment, I opened the box to find my bumper covered in rust and when I tried to line it up... it doesn't fit. Come on now people, get your stuff together...

Never really been impressed with dv8 stuff and just hear horror stories


As for fitment just a suggestion based on your photo on the inside and outside of each side of the frame there are support brackets you can loosen and can help make getting the bumper on easier.

Do a search for DV8 and rust and you find more of this in other threads on DV8 rear bumpers....similar quality control and poor shipping issues. I will not entertain another DV8 product after the hassle I experienced in returning the one I received.

Despite how much people bash them, I have never found a company that does a better job powder coating their products than Smittybilt.

I have owned multiple brands, and there is no comparison to quality of their coating.

FWIW, We received a DV8 FS-15 bumper as part of the SEMA build that was done on my wife's Jeep. According to the SEMA build/install, there were no fitment/rust issues and the bumper looks great on the Jeep. Time will tell on how the finish holds up but we are happy with it.

Yeah I asked because I’ve had an issue with them recently as well. Very POOR customer service.

They literally told me to just buy another item and put the faulty product in the box and take the new one and finish install.. I was like what?! It’s a $500 part..

Interesting, Ive always had good dealing with them and no issues with returning Items. Quadratec has been horrible for me, sending wrong stuff all the time

And to the OP, the fitment issue is quiet common on mass produced bumpers. This is why I stick with smaller companies that hand weld larger items like bumpers and what not, they tend to have jigs set up to build off of

My issue was with Extreme Terrain too. Took me almost 3 weeks to squeeze a return label out of them for a DV8 rear bumper.
